Aquarium Parking — Local services in Long Beach

I just had one of the worst experiences of my life at this parking lot. I had a prepaid ticket that I paid at the kiosk. I tried exiting and it kept saying my ticket was invalid. It gave me no choice to even say I had a lost ticket and pay again which I was considering doing just to leave as the help button led to nowhere and there was no staff there to help get me out. It also happened to a gentleman at the kiosk next to me and he asked me to use my ticket to see if it would work for him, his wife was previously running around trying to find someone ANYONE! to help us and found nobody. So I decided to give it to him.....and it worked....so there I was with no ticket to get out and nobody to help me. Luckily the gentleman and his wife stayed and got more tickets to try to get me out. I pulled into the next kiosk and put two tickets in, both were taken by the machine and not given back. The gentleman then took down my license plate numbers and said he was gonna try to figure out something for me. A couple minutes later a security gaurd finally came and asked if I needed help, I explained the situation and he let me out. What I dont understand is why the help buttons aren't directly connected to the security guards. Why, if there is no staff in the booths, is there no numbers posted on the booth for situations like this. Easy access to the surrpunding locations, but parking there on a weekend can take up to an hour on busy traffic times, especially because either is right off the freeway. The pricing is reasonable when attending the aquarium. Make sure to validate your parking there and it will be $8 dollars. You can go and take a tour for whale watching on the ocean, go eat or shop. They also have some food trucks in the area and vendors for roys or snacks right next to the parking area. It is beautiful and we will definitely come back. I love to walk to the little shops right by the beach, but be ready to hit traffic on the weekend or when they're are events...

Very unfriendly staff. When we wanted to leave the parking garage yesterday, we noticed the long queue at the exit. There seemed to be problems with the barrier. When it was our turn to wade, we put our paid parking ticket into the machine. Nothing happened. Our ticket was gone and the barrier was down. We press the help button. After 10 minutes of explaining the problem, the lady came out of the little house next to the exit. We tried to describe the problem again. We couldn't even finish and were shouted at.
