**Insufficient Security** I’ve lived in this location since November 2019 with my husband and our roommate. We love the location and despite many issues with poor and a rotating door of management companies, we love our apartment. Unfortunately, this morning between 6:41 and 6:45am one of our vehicles was stolen from the lower level garage by a male and female duo and potentially others in the alley. It seems they had a device that can mimic keyless and ignitionless key fobs and in about 3 minutes entered, got the doors open, and started the car driving off up the ramp. We’re still gathering and reviewing security footage, but no one (management and security included) monitors the cameras in real-time or at all unless there’s an incident. The same vehicle in the same space was broken into May of 2020 and no additional action was taken by the previous management company. There is zero on-site management and zero security from 6am - whenever the office team arrives. We have an emergency maintenance contact, Saul, who is amazing, but there’s no security. The theft conveniently occurred at 6:45 am and since our guards opt to sit outside on their phones the duration of their shifts instead of patrolling (previously they made rounds when we moved in Nov 2019) it’s pretty obvious to a thief when the building is vulnerable. There is also, generally, zero security at all, given none of the guards patrol and all sit on the front bench watching videos or on a chair outside smoking. I have not once seen a security guard patrolling or even looking up to see who we are when we walk through the door since early 2020. After the first vehicle break-in the previous management company shrugged their shoulders and said to call insurance. Now after the vehicle theft the NEW management company is doing the same thing. Do not feel safe moving here until this review is revised noting that management & ownership have spent the money to fix the security issues with the building including increased presence in Cameron alley, actual patrolling of the premises, monitoring of security cameras, and installing exterior cameras that cover every door and garage entrance to the building. There is no excuse for you (or current tenants) to pay for a gated garage, security, and keypad / protected entry to the building if someone can just waltz in and jack any vehicle at 6:45am while both management companies (then and now) throw up their hands. — Location is great. Rooms are spacious. Maintenance is amazing and responsive within hours. Management / Security are not worth the expense. For now… look elsewhere.

I am trying to find the regional supervisor for City Lights on Fig to report the unprofessional, gaslighting, and abusive behavior of Noah Vanaman, the current manager, towards an apartment of 3 women of color. I have lived here 2 years and have never been treated this way. Especially, after the repeated flooding of my apartment and excrement left on my bathroom floor and in my shower by the supplied plumbers.

Insufficient Security

I’ve lived in this location since November 2019 with my husband and our roommate.

Do. Not. Recommend. I stayed here for 7 months while I attended school and it is not worth it... let me explain why. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone here to respond. The garage is rat infested and you will see them running around. They do not refund your deserved deposit even if you have cleaned and left it better than you received it. I had an expensive item stolen off my car and they did not work with me on it even though it was in their "secure locked gated garage" and acted as if it was no big deal; security was awful and as a single female I never felt safe. Quite loud as there is a rooftop nightclub across the street (which of course they would not advertise). I barely got sleep on the nights I was not doing school projects because it is constant bass with doors and windows shut (Thursday through Monday most weeks). They do not treat you like a deserved customer who is paying out lots to live in a "safe and comfortable" environment. Homeless people got in to the building a couple times. The alley behind the building is filled with sketchy characters, especially at night. The hot tub was closed for a couple months which is not fair as you are paying dues within your rent for it. The elevators broke and were not fixed for over a week. I keep my space tidy but found 2 roaches one time as well as the rats in the garage, unacceptable! Management is not forthcoming or helpful, take a long time to respond, and constantly send out automated messages saying they are on "vacation and will not be back in the office". 1/5 stars... and the 1 is only for the cleaning staff who every morning made sure the outdoor hallways look presentable.

EDIT: As far as the response of the apartment "not having record..." I documented everything to management and they did nothing to provide me care on any of the above topics... not accountable is another one to add to the long lists of "bads" this apartment holds to its name. It was all shrugged off and again have yet to hear about the deposit so will no longer be doing business with this establishment, and advise anyone else to...

I had a very disappointing experience with this property. I called the day before my scheduled tour around 4:45 p.m. asking about a two-bedroom, 1.5 bath. I was told it was available at the price I was looking for. Ian told me the earliest I could come in was 11 a.m., because that’s when tours begin, so I was scheduled for the first tour slot the next morning at that time.

When I arrived at 11 a.m., there was a woman sitting behind the desk on the computer, appearing to be an employee. She mentioned that she and/or her partner were applying for the exact unit I had scheduled to see (Unit 211). Shortly after, Ian told me the unit was “no longer available” because she was applying for it right then. This felt unfair and unprofessional—if someone was already applying before my scheduled time, I should have been notified before making the trip.

What left the worst impression is that the person applying seemed affiliated with the property (given she was behind the desk), which raises concerns about favoritism. On top of that, I had tried to apply online the night before, but the system kept changing the rate to $2,700, which prevented me from applying at the listed price.

I also asked if they could honor the quoted rate on a different unit, but was told no—it would be nearly $800 more, which put it out of my budget. Altogether, this felt like a waste of time and gave me a very bad impression of how the management operates. Basic courtesy, transparency, and consistency with pricing should be the standard. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property based on...
