Dr. Ellis N. Beesley Jr, MD — Local services in Los Angeles

Dr. Beesley was my son's pediatrician from birth until about 2 1/2 yrs. I would NOT recommend this Doctor for several reasons. Making an appointment was a nightmare for starters. But the real reason why I would never recommend this practice is because he constantly dismissed my concerns with my son's development. When I brought up my worrying about my one year old not speaking at all he said "don't worry boys do that sometimes"; then when my daughter who is one year younger than my son and was literally speaking full sentences for her 1st Bday while her older brother was 2 and barely speaking at all Dr. Beesley again told me that "girls tend to speak faster than boys". That last interaction is what did it for me, I found another amazing Dr. who without hesitation, the very FIRST time she saw my son and listened to my concerns referred him to a developmental psychologist. My son was later diagnosed with developmental delay at almost 3 years old, and was referred to speech therapy and occupational therapy after this diagnosis. My son went 3 years without the help he needed, 3 years he could have been at The Regional Center getting the early intervention he needed, and all because this man kept brushing me off and dismissing everything I was worried about. Been here well over 21 yrs, dr is very nice and sweet however I only come here at least once a year for kid physical exam . I have to wait for months for my appt. And it’s always a 5min or less exam. 🙄 if you’re not quick you wil miss the opportunity to ask questions .my sons was r seen two weeks ago because i did not have a face mask ! 😒 I was not advised I needed one ! I didn’t need one at at a Federal building or the hospital i visited both the same week ! So I did not expect to have one here . I was turned away. They claim they did not have 1 extra mask ! I would like to give high recommendations as well as a five star rating to Dr. Beesley and staff Marisol, Patty, Veronica, Claudia, Lorain. They are one of the most caring and nurturing Staffs. I'm very pleased as a first time mom to have encountered a pediatrician of Dr. Beesley status. Based on my experience as a patient when it comes to your childs health, he make sure that the children is his top priority with providing The proper medical attention for your child. He is great with children, as well as the staff and I love the fact that he really cares and attends to his patients.
