I want to begin by saying that I generally like this office and so far have always had pleasant experiences there. I believe I even left a 5 star review before. Today I was seen by the phlebotomist in room number 5. I’m not sure what her name was, possibly Maria. In any case, right from the start she exhibited a weird annoyed and aggressive attitude. My cardiologist’s office had forgotten to send in the lab requests, while my primary care giver’s office had. I let her know that there was supposed to be a lab order for my blood lipids from my cardiologist’s office, and while staring at her computer screen, she rudely and aggressively said that clearly I could see that wasn’t true. I generally try not to let things get to me and remained friendly. I told her I was going to call my cardiologist’s office and have them fax it over. I asked her for the fax number and with a dismissive, combative sigh she gestured at a piece of paper taped against a low wall right in front of me that I had failed to see. I smiled apologetically and said sorry, I hadn’t noticed it. I then offered to place my call outside so she could help another patient in be meantime, which she accepted without any friendliness or appreciation. My doctor’s office immediately faxed over the lab order and about 10, 15 minutes later I was back in room 5 with the same phlebotomist. I once again apologized for the delay and assured her that I had specifically asked my cardiologist’s office to upload the lab orders into the system and they must have forgotten. While I was talking to her I took off my jacket and hung it up on one of the two hooks on the wall. I also carried a book and a keychain which I placed on a counter. She icily said “as you can see this surface is for my use and you can’t place your items here”. I said sorry and asked her where I could put my book instead to which she hissed I had to hold on to it. I said ok, and then I pointed out in a calm voice that she wasn’t very friendly. She didn’t apologize but instead with the same strange and aggressive energy told me she would get someone else to take my blood (I had not asked for that). I said ok, that’s fine. She left the room without another word and a few min later another phlebotomist appeared. She was exceedingly friendly and competent, just like every other time I’d been there before. In 2 or 3 minutes she was and sent me on my way. I paid my $16 (!!!) for parking and left. I’m giving a 3 star review but want to point out that this is unfair to the Quest Diagnostics Center, which absolutely deserves 5 stars. The phlebotomist in room 5 deserves 1 star. She was really unpleasant to deal with and I suggest HR look into this matter. I don’t know what the reason for her attitude is, but it is highly unprofessional and bad for the facility’s reputation. In the future, should I get paired up with her again, I’ll preemptively ask for someone else to help me. I never want to have to deal with this...
Read moreIf there was option I would give negative stars as my review. I have been coming to this location for over and year now and it’s always been a great experience. I get blood work every month for my type 1 diabetes. However this is my first time getting Angela M as my tech. Now let me tell you she was the rudest technician I have ever encountered. She was so rude and disrespectful horrible customer service and bed manner was rediculous. First off I came to my blood work apt on time and ready as normal for some reason my Lab work order was not online and I didn't not have it printed out. I asked her what can I do to get this for you, her response was idk what to tell you in a very rude manner. I then attempted figure it out because she was no help at all she just sat there looking at me. I remembered I got at email of my lab orders, I started looking for this email which I found. I attempted to email this to her a few times being it was secured it was not coming through for her to see. I asked if it would be easier to go print the order I live literally across the street and have a printer. Her response well not looking at me was if you leave you will have to reschedule, which wasn’t a option being I needed these labs for my upcoming doctors apt. Finally I was able to get the lab order for her via email.
I then proceeded to asked if there was something my doctor was doing wrong most recent because it's always been online for them. She ignored me, I then began to apologize for the inconvenience I may have caused not having my lab order and she ignored me yet again. It was then time to pay my balance for my labs, I gave her my card to pay she gave it back to me I proceeded to thank her for that and she still proceeded to ignore me. I went to do my sample needed in the restroom and when I came back to the room she had a patient in the room, I asked if we were finished she then stated well yeah very rudely and kept on with what she was doing.
This is very disheartening that the staff has gone so down hill at this place because it was a great place to get my lab work done. However, I will not be...
Read moreAfter reading the bad reviews, I was bracing myself for a bad experience, or at the very least, a long wait time. But I got quite the opposite!
I decided to pay for parking (which is $4 per 20 minutes or a $16 maximum) which was easy and worth it in the area, because it's a big building near Koreatown and DTLA. You could maybe find a meter and walk across the street, but the parking garage was quick, easy and close to the office, just on the 2nd floor, so the cost was worth it. I arrived at 11:45 for a 12pm appointment. There was an automated check-in kiosk that I was worried would be confusing, but it was super fast and easy to use. It even scanned my ID and insurance card without any issues. There were maybe 10 other people in the waiting room. It was clean and simple and they had a video screen showing how many people were checked in and waiting for the next hour.
The woman taking my blood was kind, professional and, thank god, fast! I told her I can get lightheaded, so she chatted with me while she drew the blood and helped distract me. She got me some water afterwards and let me sit for as long as I wanted to. Turns out I didn't need to stay for long, as she really did help me feel fairly relaxed. Still, she said it was no trouble and I could sit and have more water if I needed to. Her sweetness was really appreciated. All in all, with check in, wait time and getting my blood drawn and then verifying information with her afterwards, I left just about 5 minutes after 12pm, my original appointment time. I couldn't believe it! I'm grateful for the staff and their efficiency. I hate getting my blood drawn but this office, at least when I was there, was working like a well-oiled machine, and that helped me feel...
