Top of the Line Rheumatologist!
If youāre lucky enough to be referred to Dr Dolatabadi, or have the opportunity to choose her office on your own, you will count your lucky stars. I simply canāt speak highly enough of her dedication to helping, her diagnostic/analytical skills and, something that is super rare these days - her ability to see you as a unique individual - and not another Dr who āgeneralizesā you or your condition. For me personally, as a black woman seeking medical care, that is Huge!
I was having symptoms that included substantial pain, and I was scared and confused. During her initial examination she asked me the types of questions Iām never asked by doctors these days, like real specifics about my lifestyle and daily activities. She had a genuine curiosity that made me feel seen and heard. After doing the blood tests she ordered, I went for my follow-up, and she clearly laid out her diagnosis and recommendation, and was so patient in answering all my questions.
I am now on the recommended medication and am amazed at the positive change in my body and the welcome relief from pain. There is a commonly prescribed generic brand medication for my condition, which has been known to cause stomach upset, but instead of prescribing that for me, she had a staff member work with me to navigate my insurance options to get a higher quality brand (thank you Albert!!!). This is what I mean about Dr Dolatabadi really listening; I had mentioned in my first appt how sensitive my stomach is to medications, and sheād made note of that. I have learned over my continued visits with her that she is in general, very keen on high quality ingredients in meds and supplements.
My review wouldnāt be complete without mentioning the excellent front desk staff. I have watched them handle a variety of personalities with professionalism, patience and grace. Amber is one of them, and sheās a real gem. All of the office staff Iāve met here are top notch.
Sometimes the wait to be seen can be just a little long, but it is beyond worth it to me to have the kind of expert, attentive care I get here. This doctor is amazingly efficient, but I never feel even the least bit rushed during my exam time, so I know sheās giving that same special treatment to all of her patients.
I only wish I could find a primary care physician like Dr Dolatabadi. She has restored my faith that, despite the sort of assembly line treatment that is common these days, there are still doctors out there with great heart and a highly valued personal touch.⨠Thank you Dr Dolatabadi! You are...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreA dehumanizing and disorganized experience to say the least. As an African American Woman, the healthcare system is already exhausting, isolating and often defeating to navigate. It's unfathomable how much more difficult this was made for me today when I came to this office for care and instead received false sincerity and reprimand for a previous lapsed referral. I don't know how someone who SPECIALIZES in autoimmune disease could not understand how a patient like myself with a well documented history of multiple chronic conditions and clinical depression as well as generalized anxiety disorder doesn't operate on the same axis of consistency as healthier patients with managed symptoms. It was really the complete lack of empathy for me. Her bedside manners were not only bad, it was evident that she is not equipped to provide care with dignity to patients who belong to marginalized communities. I don't know how someone who SPECIALIZES in autoimmune disease could show up to the patients room without a mask on coughing without covering her mouth. Rather or not the cough is covid related is irrelevant when all of her patients are in her care because they may be at risk for autoimmune disease.
Dr Soha was dismissive, disengaged, and did not let me get a fully formed thought in edgewise when inquiring about my symptoms.
Rather or not a patient has been able to be consistent with their previous referral should not be the determining criteria for how much dignity and respect they deserve to be treated with.
If you're going to be a medical professional who provides care for patients with chronic conditions that are often very debilitating in an already inaccessible healthcare system the very least you can do is be empathetic and open to helping them not furthering the oppression and opposition they already feel trying to fight for themselves in this discriminatory and elitist system.
(If your elderly loved ones is seeing this doctor please be an advocate for them because I have seen her twice now and she doesn't listen...
