Loved the little park where the kids can play. Didn't like that a couple with their baby toddler was sitting at the boat-balancing playground thingy eating their lunch and smoking marihuana IN an AREA FOR KIDS and not letting the other toddlers enjoy it; they'll go up there and just look and this people would not move any finger. Let me say there were plenty of tables with seats right next to the playground area to eat. They would just seat there like they owned it. Poor kids and that smell and the smoke I don't care if it's legal it overwhelms me that they had the nerve to do it around babys, toddlers, kids and adults in an area designated for kids recreation, not adults. Besides kids don't have a choice they do. Imposing your habits in kids and their health that don't know anything about life. Police/security passed by but I don't think they supervised the area throughly. Didn't get out of the car to really check what was going on or at least say, "do your thing at your house not where all the kids are playing and haven't decided yet if they want to experience to smoke or not". The other parents were just starring at them incredulous of what they were seeing but didn't say nothing. Finally they decided to leave among all the starring probably feeling they were about to get in trouble. I just wish security would do their rounds walking through the playground making sure adults or young people are not disturbing kids safety and that there will be signs of not smoking any type of cigarettes. We adults can decide what to put in our bodies, kids don't and is not fair we decide for them before their own time. I'm not against people doing their thing just keep it to yourself and don't impose them in the little ones. I guess you get the point. Nice park by the beach otherwise, with plenty of parking a restaurant close by. For kids 0- 12 y/o but your toddlers will enjoy it more. It has the figure/outline of a boat right next...
Read moreSo i came here for the first time to do a PEV group ride with a group and i got here at a good time. The parking signs at the beach do not make sense. They should have a time instead of the "open till the sun goes down" crap. I paid for 3 hours to park here and got a ticket once it barely got dark which was just after 9pm. Again if they were specific on time like opened from 8am to 8pm i would have found somewhere else to park. I got a ticket for $63.00 and when i paid online the next day it was $64.00 for the ticket. Im glad i wasnt towed away but bothered that they aren't specific here so i wont EVER be returning here even if my group ride friends come back here. I live in Highland park and we dont have to worry about having a city resident parking permit or you get towed parked in the street. We do have paid parking meters but they are specific here with time vs "till it gets...
Read moreThe dolphins tried to rescue my son! A stingray stung him in the ankle. And jellyfish gave him a rash on the arm. Sometimes the fog causes a mystic feel and creates a 360 degree rainbow. The sanderlings graze like marching bands. The pelicans swoosh by on the wave break inches off the mounting swell and a foot away from your head as you wait for that perfect wave break. I learned to bodysurf here. My son caught his first wave here. I have a photo of my son when he first saw this ocean for the first time here....as a toddler. It was as if he saw the face of God both terrified and in awe. The sunsets are magical but there is more here to find. All is right in the world when you step on the sand and abandon the modern world. 4/24/22 Seal body surfed next to me after checking me out after noticing my Old Spice in my wetsuit. Lol. I love this place. 7/20/22 High...
