I received the Le Labo Figue 15 candle two days ago as a birthday gift from a colleague. It’s a thoughtful and beautiful gift, and I really appreciated it. However, we noticed a small bubble under the label, and when we tried to smooth it out, it caused a visible crease.
Wanting to keep the candle looking perfect since I wanted to keep the glass when I will used the candle. I called the boutique where it was purchased to politely ask if I could come in to have the label re-applied. Unfortunately, the client advisor I spoke to was not helpful and responded in a very dismissive way . I was told that “just because you come in doesn’t mean it will be possible,” and “if you want to waste your time, you can come and we’ll try.”
Additionally, the advisor mentioned that it “depends on who applies the label,” which is not a satisfying or professional answer for a brand that positions itself as premium and customer-focused.
I fully understand that reapplying a label to a rounded surface may be tricky, and I would have had no issue if that was explained to me respectfully. But the tone and attitude I received were simply not acceptable.
As someone who also works in retail with a demanding clientele, I value a client-centric approach. I will keep the candle as is, but I will not recommand and shop at...
Read moreI’m a longtime fan of Le Labo’s scents, but my experience at this location was disappointing enough that I won’t be back to this location.
When I walked in, none of the employees acknowledged me. Eventually, someone asked if I needed help. I asked to smell the Palo Santo home scent and was told it was “on the wall.” I then asked if they sold samples in-store and was told they never sell them at any location. I mentioned that I’ve purchased $7 samples before at the Little Tokyo location, and she corrected me—“the Arts District.” Then, she said, “Oh yes, we do.”
The interaction just felt awkward and inconsistent. I didn’t feel guided or welcomed, and I probably could have navigated the store on my own. In fairness, maybe she thought I meant home scent samples instead of body scents—but either way, it wasn’t a great customer service experience.
I still love Le Labo products, but I’ll be visiting other locations...
Read moreI walked in the store with my boyfriend because I heard amazing things about the fragrances so I insisted that we checked it out and was very fond of Santal 33 I believe it was. The woman that was in the store followed us around very awkwardly not like she was trying to help us at all, just making sure we weren’t stealing. We felt smothered. At one point I opened the testing sampler to smell it and the woman dropped everything and literally RAN over to me and got super close to see what I was doing and make sure I still was not taking anything. I have never been so blatantly racially profiled in my life. I will not be going back and if you are a black woman, I recommend not visiting the...
