Spa Sophia — Local services in Los Angeles

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles. What I experienced was NOT just a facial - it felt like I was receiving an energy/ healing session. After my favorite esthetician moved out of state, I had been searching for years for an esthetician/ spa that could offer effective treatments without having to sacrifice on using clean(er) products. I have SUPER sensitive skin that reacts to pretty much any artificial scents and ingredients. I knew I was in the best hands when Sophia started my facial by asking me all kinds of questions about my skin. She was truly interested in understanding the journey my skin had been on prior to walking through the door... and she was clearly invested in making sure I had as much information as possible to keep it has healthy as possible post-treatment. The facial itself was heavenly, the products were amazing, the technique was perfect, and Sophia has magical energy that literally made me so relaxed I fell asleep. I walked out of there on cloud 9. I can go on and on about the Spa but seriously, just go and try it for yourself. You are worth it and you won't regret it!

Update: I LOVE going to Spa Sophia anytime I'm in California. I travel full time and between all of the different climates I'm constantly putting my skin through and all of the dehydrating airplane rides, Spa Sophia is like the light at the end of the tunnel. I've received treatments from multiple estheticians and bodyworkers and they've all been top tier and you'll feel welcome from the minute you step through the door. They're not a 'one-size-fits-all' kind of spot. They really customize treatments based on where YOUR skin is at. I also LOVE that they aren't forced to use just one product line - they mix it up for your skin type and needs.

I recently had an Advanced Facial with Ariana and she was gentle, friendly, and clearly knowledgable about all of my skin concerns. We had a super easy-going chat about traveling and sound baths and I received an incredible tension-releasing neck, jaw and shoulder massage while a beautiful hydrating mask was working its magic (after a thorough inspection of my skin, cleansing, and gentle extractions, of course!).

I felt so refreshed and taken care of after my treatment. Ariana walked me through the products she selected for my facial and why. It showed me that she is a wealth of knowledge on the products they carry (I think one was called Omedics from Australia and the entire line seems incredible). It was so nice to be able to get recommendations and understand what I could do outside of treatments to keep my skin healthy and balanced. I will obviously be back and I would highly recommend Ariana and Spa Sophia for any self care, facials, massages, energy work...

I can’t believe I didn’t review Spa Sophia before. I have been a client now for almost 8 years! I started off seeing Sophia for waxing (eyebrows, lip, & Brazilian). For starters, I love how much thought Sophia and Natasha (I have only seen the 2 ladies for my services) put into really shaping eyebrows thoughtfully and correctly. I get compliments on my beautiful eyebrows (who gets compliments on eyebrows right?!) but I’ll take it & I love my eyebrows. I also love that Sophia has always tailored my waxing based on my skin and it’s current conditions (ie. used the appropriate type and temperature wax for different areas). Over the almost 8 years I had an incident when I didn’t tell her about recent medication use that made my skin more fragile, and subsequently my upper lip sheared a little. Sophia noticed right away and communicated with me and put a special balm on it & even gave me some to take home for after care and explained to me the importance of communicating certain things to her prior to waxing-I never knew, but I was appreciative of her honesty and care of educating me for future appointments. Another thing I love-THE PRODUCT LINES! I LOVE that she sells multiple product lines, and they are all TOP QUALITY. Over the years I’ve heard how much time, research, and education Sophia puts into vetting the products, I buy with full confidence and I NEVER feel a pressure to buy-which I know a lot of people appreciate. Lastly, the FACIALS!! So amazing and relaxing! I always leave with my skin looking so beautiful, hydrated, and youthful after I’ve had a facial with Sophia. She truly is a wealth of knowledge, and assesses my skin and provides the facial that will be best for me. I don’t ever see myself going anywhere else-I drive from Lakewood (about 40min away) and I would drive another 40 minutes to keep going...

I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the Spa Sophia and esthetician Vanessa who incredibly transformed my skin. I am truly happy by the results we've achieved together and finally I can go out without putting foundation and not to look like I have some skin decease. Before coming to Vanessa, my skin was in a state of despair- constant severe breakouts, clogged pores, bumpy texture all over my skin, redness, hyperpigmentation, you name it. Previous specialists and incorrect product recommendations had left a big damage. I had almost given up hope and was thinking to go on acutane which is a big deal to me. Vanessa’s knowledge of skincare ingredients is unparalleled, I felt confident in her recommendations and followed her instructions but not always xoxo naughty me. It was a long journey of restoring the damage but well worth it with her. Beyond that, I am grateful for the emotional support and encouragement she provided throughout this process, she always puts far more time than my sessions time.
