I went to this restaurant last week to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a terrible experience. We booked a reservation for Wednesday at 8 pm but had to wait 15 minutes for the table to clear up. I felt like we didn't even need to book a reservation in the first place. After being seated we had to wait at least ten minutes for a server to attend our table. We stopped one who was passing by and asked for water and he told us that he wasn't our waiter and would try to find who was supposed to look after our table. It was ridiculous. When our waitress finally made an appearance she was very passive-aggressive from the start. She seemed annoyed when we ordered appetizers and our entrees, but we were starving and had been waiting to eat for 30 minutes. We got our food at a decent time. The hummus flatbread and meatballs are good, however, the skewered chicken was over-charred and bland. It was not worth the money. It should be mentioned that during the entirety of our meal, we had to ask servers for more water. The glasses they lay out on the table are small and the servers only fill them halfway. It felt like we were taking shots of water. If the waiters are not going to be vigilant about refilling water, then they should leave the pitcher at the table for the customers to serve themselves. As I mentioned earlier, my friends and I were there to celebrate a birthday. At the end of the meal, I told this to the waitress to see if they had any birthday celebrations. In a fake happy attitude, she told my friend "Happy birthday" and left. If the restaurant doesn't do celebrations for events, such as this, then I don't know why there is an option while making a reservation. She could have also politely told us this. It should also be noted, that we heard a table singing Happy Birthday while we were waiting for our table, so I'm unsure of this restaurant's policy towards birthday celebrations. Overall, I have never experienced such terrible service, especially from a place that advertises itself as being upscale. The waitress needs to learn how to be professional with paying customers. It is safe to say that I will not be recommending this...
Read moreI like the Greek aesthetic beauty, which is the reason I came.
I was set at a table that I can only see the wall in the patio. It really just turned me down a little. So if you go, try to sit in the middle of the patio if possible. However I understood that the beautiful host wanted to give me a table in the sun, and I do love sunlight in a cozy afternoon to get some Vitamin D. Some other tables are in the shade. Some are bigger tables. This restaurant also reminded me of Amour Weho. It looked wonderful on social media.
Maybe the food don’t speak to me, or the cocktails are too simple to choose. I really did not like my cocktail. There are so many restaurants in LA serving great cocktails. But not here. The food was plain, it just did not get any joy for my tastebud. Maybe I don’t have a Greek stomach. I knew a lot people like me saw the posts— several plates on the tables looking so cute, and elegant. It is actually not delicious to me at all.
I don’t have a hate to the owner after all this is a new restaurant. But the worst worst part is the back ground music. All those old like my gramma’s age American music in such a place really really made me want to leave immediately. I was like what the hell? Not saying it has to be a k-pop music, but some trendy music, at least helps to build the vibe based on this atmosphere.
I had a huge disappointment, and I also felt cheated by people who did those beautiful posts, but did not expressed anything real. We are fools for social media? Or the cheaters are smart to fool?
My opinions are not right for everyone. It was just how I felt. It might be a great place for people who posted, and really loved it. Just not for me.
Indoor design is artistic as well, not interesting to me at all.
Walking on Abbot Kinney Street is more enjoyable, and there are so many better restaurants on...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in yesterday on 8/31 after some shopping on the street. I checked earlier in the day if there were reservations available and saw that there were plenty. Since I didn’t know when we were going to finish shopping I did not make a reservation. When we arrived the hostess said they were completely booked up for the night. We stepped outside and checked open table and saw there was a reservation available at the same time we were checking in. We made the reservation stepped back inside and informed the hostess. She replied by saying a reservation just canceled. WOW such amazing timing within less than a minute from being told there was no availability. She proceeded to disappear for a moment. As we are waiting another couple comes to check in and the hostess informed them there is no availability at the moment but within an hour. Strange how we didn’t get offered that option and was told booked up for the whole night. Besides that awkward initial impression we had dinner. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. The restaurant was very beautiful with a nice Greek aesthetic. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Safe to say I won’t be returning. Not sure if we fit the look of the patrons that the restaurant would like to accommodate to. I never leave negative google reviews. I only try to leave a review when I want to praise a business but I got to say that was a pretty lame experience. I’m sure the hostess was just following some sort of protocol so I don’t fault her completely but I am left to assume there is some filtering process...
