Trading Post — Local services in Mackinac Island

Got a very hateful attitude from one of the workers because my son accidentally stepped in front of her. Then I heard her complaining about a customer that picked up a shirt and didn’t fold it back the way she liked it. Guess what?! Folding the shirts is YOUR JOB! That is literally what you get paid for. If you cannot deal with customers looking at items, and picking them up then clearly you need to find a new job. I will not give my money to someone that has that kind of attitude with people spending their hard earned money in their business. I told my kids to lay down their stuff, and I laid down my stuff and walked out. I will spend my money where they can at least fake good...

Touristy store. Obviously they are not very welcoming to shoppers... Just read the signs that say... "Please keep handling of merchandise to a minimum."

Anyways it is mostly Chinese junk stuff. There's better stores on the island with more friendly people there. Nothing really unique here. Location was close to the docks I'm pretty sure that the main reason they get business.

Perfect place to bring your little kid to play with junk then beg you to buy it so they can take home a souvenir that they will never play with or it will break as soon as they get home.

Hard pass...

Bought some cute items, but I realized after the fact that my items came up to $31 without tax. I was stressed, tired, and the lady put in $40 at her register. I paid it surprised by how steep the price was as I was trying to go cheap. I didn’t realize what had happened...
