Quaint little bookstore. It has all the sections you'd expect at a bookstore, but they're maybe only a shelf or two in size. They sell manga, which my daughter was happy to see! She picked up a couple books and some cute kitty magnetic bookmarks.
I was looking for some non-fiction books on Mackinac Island history. All I found were history books on narrow topics (i.e. Mackinac during the Civil War) or time periods (i.e. 1700 to 1880), and these books weren't the usual paperback but oddly sized thin books. I wanted something comprehensive spanning the history of the island from its founding to (roughly) present day, covering any events of consequence or intrigue. Perhaps such a book doesn't exist.    Read moreThe store itself wasnât terrible. The service was abysmal. We were shopping in there looking for keepsakes from our trip when a family member had to use the restroom. So they went to the back and found the restroom. We didnât see the sign saying the restroom wasnât for customers. So after one family member went we went to a nearby store to look for a restroom and the lady chased us into the store yelling at us for using their bathroom. What a terrible experience! We made an honest mistake and the employee had to try and shame us? Really? Get a life. Donât go there, rude employees with nothing better to do that...
   Read moreWe love this bookstore and make a point of coming in whenever we are on the island. This would be a 5 star review, but on our most recent visit, a gentleman (and I use that term loosely) was loudly berating an employee, it was embarrassing, and unnecessary, the situation should not have been dealt with in front of all of the customers. A member of our group went next door to get someone to come in and make them stop. His reaction was very flippant, they don't have to listen attitude. No one should be talked to the...
