Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor's Center — Local services in Mackinaw Township

My husband and I were fortunate enough to tour the fort Tuesday morning and again for fort fright. Everyone was incredibly knowledgeable I personally loved speaking with the Ojibwa teacher just outside the fort walls (I apologize for not catching her name) she gave me some great tips for viewing the island the next day and I greatly appreciate her advice. The visitor center and gift shop makes a nice stop even if you don’t visit the fort. There are a lot of local wares for sale, and there are also plenty of books detailing the local history and geology available too.
