Condo pros: ocean front location with absolutely beautiful views. Condo is large. Loved the balcony. We had a group of four women and had more than enough room. The living area is spacious as well. Restaurants and stores within walking distance is a plus. The beach is beautiful and premises were kept clean. The condo itself was clean with the exception of the refrigerator needing replaced. It was dirty and rusty. Cons: condo is right across from the elevator which can be noisy at night. Even though quiet time is 11pm to 9am, there was loud banging noises coming from the parking area at 7am every morning for about 15-20 minutes. It sounded like dumpsters banging together. Kitchen is stocked well enough for basics, but if you’re planning on doing any cooking, bring your own spices and basics like salt and pepper. There are no storage containers or ziplock bags to store food in. A few very thin garbage bags were left. You can’t put much in them, they tear very easily. A few dishwasher tablets, and a small bottle of dish soap. No paper towels and only one extra roll of toilet paper even though there are two bathrooms. We were never able to figure out how the TV in the master bedroom worked. We were only there 4 nights so I didn’t worry about it, but instructions on which remotes work what devices and how to use would be helpful. Check-in was okay. Our flight arrived at 7am. We contacted Sun Host, the property manger, a few days prior to our arrival, to inquire about checking in early, possibly 10-11am. I noticed the condo was empty the four days prior to our arrival. We were told that the only way to check in early was to pay for an extra day. They said they text us the code after 12pm. I had received an email that stated if we arrived early, we could call at 11am to see if the condo was ready. We called, as the email instructed at 11am. We were told it had not been “released” and they would call with the code when it was ready. We went to the condo property and hung out at the pool and beach until 2pm with no call. All of our cell phones were dying because our car rental was an older car and had no phone charging slots. We finally called to check again and let them know our cell phones were dying. We were put on hold, then they finally gave us the code. I stay in this area every year and have worked with several different property managers. This property manager was the least impressive of any I have worked with in the area and I would not contact them again for a rental. The little niceties that other property managers provide, was just sorely...
Read moreWe stayed in Beach Place 510 in the building facing the water this last week 7/26-8/2. This was our third year staying at the Beach Place and it will be our last. The apartment was disgusting. The floors were covered in sand as soon as we arrived. The tile was cracked and looked like mold between all the tiles. The place smelled like mold/mildew so strong it was hard to sleep or breathe. The bathtub had mold in it and all around the tub on the ground. The water leaked out of the shower soaking the floor. The master bedroom smelled so strong of mold it was unbearable. The fan was broken and missing the whole blade from it making it not useable. The couch was discolored to yellow and has never been wiped down. There was nasty stuff all down in the sides of it. The table on the back porch was covered in melted chocolate and rust. The chair was also broken. The tables inside had to be wiped down as well as there were rings from drinks all over them and something sticky. The railing on the balcony is also loose from the wall. We contacted several times to John Pass Condos via phone and email and never received a response. We still have not heard from them. The elevator in the building also stopped working several times while there.
There was maintenance men there as well while staying here who parked in our designated spot. When we returned and tried to park in our spot they said they were told to park there and informed to tell us to go in another spot that belongs to another apartment which was further away. For as much as we paid to stay here why would we be told to park somewhere else especially when they say you can be towed for doing this. The maintenance was being done on another floor not in our apartment.
The kitchen was nice and updated but that was the only area. I am glad we did not spend much time in the room as it was very disappointing. I think this was an apartment they tried to put together quickly again after the storms rather than taking the time to make sure it was fully ready. The beach is amazing and Johns Pass is open and fantastic like always. I would not recommend staying in...
Read moreThe condo was filthy. No mattress pads on beds. Shower curtain very moldy, old and dry rotted. Towel holder and light plates in bathroom covered in dust and crud. There was fingerprints all over the bathroom doors and hair stuck to the walls Dishes in cabinets had food on the.. all the glasses were dirty. I had to rub everything thru dishwasher before we could use it. There was SKIN on the couch like someone picked their sunburn, so obviously the furniture was notvwiped/vacuumed. The toaster was covered with crumbs and finger prints definitely notvwiped or sanitized. There was one garbage bag that lasted a hot second because they were so thin. Before we could enjoy our stay we had to go buy bleach cleaner to sanitize and clean the entire condo and but garbage bags. We were there for 7 days and got 4 wash clothes. Not sure about others but we shower daily, sometimes twice. We definitely DO NOT use washcloths more than once. Towel yes I would use more than one time. When I asked for more washcloths I was told they weren't provided, i would need to wash them in the laundry room. The day we got there I showered, 5 minutes later my feet were filthy. I had to n use one of the 4 washcloths to wash my feet before i put my shoes on. Never walked barefootbin there again ...Also there's no recycling bin in condo. So everytime u had recycling you had to walk across the parking lot to recycle. The parking lot out back near the pool is used for local teens to loiter, blast music, swear, play football ect. At 3 a.m. itvwokevus up a few nights. I called the non emergency # but noone ever came. The kids just kept coming back. There were also about 10 unsupervised kids (about 10, 11, 12 years old) in the pool each night yelling and using profanity. Needless to say that was where our balcony was so it...
