DO NOT STAY AT SANDY SHORES OR RENT WITH JOHNS PASS CONDOS
If you’re thinking of booking here cause of the pool don’t bother! Water is always dark and cloudy. Pool mechanics aren’t working properly.
It seems somebody rented 104 a few months and reported all the same issues which have now had too!!!!
We have had nothing but issues! They have to be the worst company you could rent from. They just ignore you and delay doing anything about any of your problems unless you get really cross!
My son got his head trapped in between the headboard and the mattress in the middle Of the night when the bed gave way! Then the other bed in the room also gave way too! They were able to fix one of the beds but the other they wanted to put the mattress on the floor and make us sleep on that until they could sort a bed frame! When I refused they came about with a frame that was 2 sizes too big for the mattress! We explained this was not safe for our kids! So after us kicking up more of a fuss a man called Greg came to our door to speak to us to see what he could do to help! We explained neither of these options were suitable nor safe for our kids! He said he would go to Walmart and buy a bed frame! Wow finally we only wasted 2 hours fighting to get the right and safe outcome! This really unsettled our children!
The condo needs a serious deep clean and upgrades it’s run down. Half painted and filthy! There is no lighting in the bedroom apart from a lamp so it’s very hard to see. The sink in the kitchen constantly back ups. The trash shoots in the building are constantly blocked which makes a lot of rubbish chucked on the floor by the shoots really stinky and unpleasant, and that definitely won’t be helping the cockroach issues. The electrical fan and light in the main room doesn’t work properly flickers constantly reported and never fixed.
We came back from going to get lunch and there was some maintenance people in our condo just helped themselves in we had zero notice of this! All of our personal belongings including passports were out we felt very uncomfortable with this. We get maintenance is needed but we should have be given notice! It was actually very interesting to learn that the maintenance people gave notice to johns pass condos a week prior to the maintenance being carried out!!!
Our son cut his toe on a load of sharp nails left out on the tv unit.
The elevator constantly breaks down and light sometimes goes out inside it!
The pool has to be closed and delayed opening some days as there were constant issues with the water being too cloudy and the filter not running.
The lady at the end of the phone just hangs up on you she is rude and her response is always I will Pass your message on but nothing ever happens! I have the email paper trail to prove! She promises a man called Alec will be in touch but it never happens! We were promised compensation by Greg and had one email to say that everything would be handled and compensation given by Monday morning we are now on Thursday afternoon and no further forward with getting our compensation apart from a rude lady who hangs up the phone on you! They aren’t accountable for anything they say or do!
Don’t waste your money and stay here it’s really not worth it the bad reviews and horror stories about this place are 100% true! If you wish to stay at sandy shores book through itrip a lot of people here have used itrip and they have had a much...
Read moreSTAY AWAY it is changing. We have been going here for nearly 10 years many times booking for over a month. What happened on our last day, Friday March 16th was unacceptable. I understand there are many platforms to book a condo and the management office can't control everything, but when it happens that can't ignore it. Evidently there was a group of young ladies raising hell on the fifth floor. A young coupe from Canada heard screaming and yelling all night till about 4AM. They called the experience horrible.
We came down to the pool and my wife said someone must be planning a birthday party. Beach balls in the pool, volleyball and water balloons. So this group of young ladies come down and start setting up at picnic table and who comes next but a guy with a massive DJ speaker. Within 10 minutes at least 50 of their friends come in from every which way checking their phones for the pool code obviously sent to them. BOOM music came on and you could not hear the person next to you. Very offensive lyrics were blasted across the pool. People went over to no avail to turn it down. I went up to my room and called the management office who seemed annoyed by my complaint. I came right back down, and someone must of called the cops who were addressing the situation. All they did was remove them from private property and I guess that is all they can do. They set up on the beach.
Here is my major problem. All day long this group help themselves to the pool, bathroom and speeding in and out of the parking lot parking anywhere they wanted including the one-hour load and unload spots by elevator. I saw someone from the management office there and he DID NOTHING while a group of six just walked past him. Loaded with sand, they would jump right into pool and two, three and four at a time would go into the pool bathroom together and they already had their bathing suits on. Of course you could smell the Marijuana from the beach. We paid $380 a night and they let this place became a hotel takeover. ALL DAY. We came back from dinner at 8:30 and the last four cars were just leaving the parking spots. Now I know why I saw early on in our stay why people were putting cones and caution tape to prevent parking in their spot.
I wrote the HOA on Facebook and called the management office and zero response. In the past three years I have spent over $35,000 renting. We used to see the same people year after year but only recognized one person this year. They are not there anymore and know I know why.
Sometimes it comes how you handle things, and they simply DID NOTHING. We weren't too happy that the pool and elevator code posted on social media and shouted across the pool. There are seemed to be other groups throughout our stay with 12 plus people. You can tell when they leave, they head in the direction of other hotels or to the public parking lot by the inlet. At least they were respectful of the paying guests and facilities.
This is just my third google review and the...
Read moreDO NOT STAY IN ROOM 407! We just returned from our 5 night stay in this unit and we had a terrible experience. We read that the building was under construction but was not prepared for the bugs, dirt, dust, and mold we encountered. Most important was the amount of ants in the kitchen counter and table. They stated it was treated but I sprayed and cleaned several times a day and there were hundreds of them all over. We had to throw out all our groceries in the morning due to being infested with ants. We couldn't eat in the unit at all due to the bugs. Next, the showers were all moldy and two of us were sick any time we were in the unit. We have two small children and the mold posed a HUGE health concern for us. All of the decor and furnishings were old and dusty, so we had virtually no where to sit and relax. Our balcony was flooded so we could not get out there to see the very limited view. The blinds were missing panels and were missing the cords to close them in the living room so we had to keep them open. We were told about coin laundry, except there is no where to get change and people from other floors kept using the machines since the machines on other floors were broken. We have stayed in this area before and have never had an experience like this. We felt extremely uncomfortable the whole trip because the whole unit was so run down and filthy. Attached are a few pics of mold, dust and holes...
