I give this store 2 because although I like and use many of the items carried in the store the specific location the customer service is very poor. I've spent a lot of money in this store but some of the employees either have no patience or no passion for customer service and the type of business they're in. This type of store is specifically DIY crafting therefore you have to have patience because some people that are coming into the store are not all pros but also just learning. I've noticed at least one employee that works here that is eager to get people out of the store an hour or two before closing. Every time I've come in the store I've been followed by the same employee. She's very eager and pushy and I like to think that not just myself but others enjoy their shopping experiences and don't appreciate being followed around and asked several times if they can be helped. And at times she's been so eager to push people along their way that when she does ask if you need help and you do tell her what you need help with she will tell you they don't sell the item This happened to me several times in one visit when I was looking for several different items for my wedding And I ended up finding everything I was looking for down different aisles. I had my mother with me on this last visit so I finally was able to have a witness to this employee's behavior and the several times I had been there before she acted the same. Not only did she act this way while me and my mother were in the store but as we walked up to the register to pay for our items she followed and for some reason stood behind me And when I proceeded to tell the cashier that a lot of the items I got are on sale and I want to make sure of the price she interrupted my conversation from behind saying indeed they were not luckily the cashier asked if she could just ring them up she would be able to see for herself and sure enough they were on sale and the employee said oh and turned around and walked away. But as I was leaving the store with my mother as soon as we walked through the front door she swiftly walked up to the cashier and without filter or a low voice proceeded to talk very rudely about me. When I had called the store the following day and I asked to speak to the main store manager she proceeded to tell me that she was the manager and indeed...
Read moreMy cousin, my fiance, cousins girlfriend and I visited this Michaels location to grab a few last minute craft items for our weekly craft and movie night. We did arrive at the store about 35 minutes prior to closing. We knew we needed to get in, grab what we needed and get out. Plus, none of us had any intention of being there all night, as dinner and our movie was waiting for us! We walk into the store, and there is an older female employee standing at the front with a pretty unpleasant look on her face. Suddenly an anti theft alarm is sounding, which thinking back now I assume she might’ve intentionally set it off thinking that we were going to be stealing? Yeah right, I’ve never stole a thing in my life. Any who, we make our way to the back of the store where the acrylic paints are. We needed just a few colors and some of those small wooden houses. I see this lady walk past us at least two times, both of which she’s glaring down the aisle at us. The third time she walks by, she asks us if we need help finding anything, we decline, she proceeds to tell us they will be closing in 15 minutes. It was actually 25min but whatever, we were almost finished anyway. She walks by again, not even 2 minutes later, this time I’m one isle over from my group and she stops and says again “the store will be closing soon.” I just respond “thank you, we are aware.” Mind you there is at least three other women walking around the store shopping. She wasn't approaching them or pestering them the way she had with us. It felt very unnerving and almost like we were doing something wrong by being there. The young cashier was sweet and helpful, however we wont be coming back here. I would rather drive the 10 extra minutes to the Lakestevans Michaels, than have deal with that unpleasant...
Read moreEverything there was very tempting. I went for black velvet silhouette neckline stands to hold necklaces for a Gemstone Annual show in Monroe, WA. I found that they had quite a selection of clear plastic ones, (small and large), and the velvet ones as well. I was very happy to find them unmarred. Usually they have indentations or scars on the plastic and material ones. Great assistance too!! My showcase at the Marysville "Rockoctoberfest" (always the first weekend in October, Marysville Rock and Gem annual show), looked awesome. I had my fake food that I made, in it. (See previous reviews for Hobby Lobby, Home Depot and Walmart where I picked up my other arts and craft items). I made fake strawberry sundaes, chocolate dipped strawberries, mixed with real candy from WinCo. Inside the showcase were many delights (jewelry) along with my artificial caramel apples. (I kept seeing them on the kitchen counter, and by golly, I brain would be thinking, "OOOOHHH!!! I wonder who brought home caramel APPL . . . OH, MAAAAAN . . . those aren't real, those are for...
