Outdoor goods for yuppies and people who don't know better.
This is essentially just a large Big 5. The "Outdoor Wear" section is full of Nike and Reebok goods which are mostly just sweats, the sports sections are full of high end niche products you can't really use, the fishing aisle is all low grade product that doesn't work, and the guns and ammo are EXTREMELY overpriced (nearly $1 a round for 7.62x39) for what you would get.
They do occasionally have a sale where you can pick up an item or two at a reasonable price, but their 25% off and 50% off coupons still only take it a few percent lower than you can find the items at daily in a Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops. Plus, at any REAL sporting goods store, you have the benefit of personnel with real life experience. Here it's just high-school kids at a part-time job and a few older adults supervising them.
Even their "specialists" are useless. The guy at the firearms counter didn't even know if they ever carried rifles from Thompson as he had never heard of the brand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas shopping for a gun safe with a friend on Sunday (12/3/17) at around 2pm. I will say that the prices in the store are a lot better then at Cabelas for similar products, but the customer service (at least at the gun counter) is extremely rude. My friend was waiting patiently at the counter for a representative to finish a sale so she could ask to open a safe. When she was able asked to open a safe (one that required a key) the representative sighed and rolled his eyes at her and proceeded to ignore her and not acknowledge her request. We stood there for a few more minutes being ignored and then left. We probably would have bought the safe if we had been able to look inside, but now we will give our business to Costco or Cabelas even for higher prices. We understand that customer service is tough and there are very rude customers out there, but if a customer is polite and patient and still receives rude and degrading service unprovoked then you have lost...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time ever stepping foot into this store. Staff are very friendly which is why I gave this review a 2nd star. I was looking for womens tennis shoes. The man at the front nicely directed me to the back of the store. When I got there I saw a pathetically small section for womens shoes. Looked towards a corner of a back wall trying to find more selection and all they had was cleats. Cleats everywhere. Perhaps I overlooked it but I did not see their sections clearly marked and the price "tags" are so tiny on the shoe boxes you have to get really close just to read them. Finally got help and was directed to a shelving unit with more womens shoes (again, still a small selection.) A relative recommended I come here and check the clearance items but there was no clearance and the employee did not show me when I asked about a clearance section. I left the store, and will not be returning. Highly disappointed with this experience in what seemed to be a...
