I promised myself that I was only going to purchase Tori Richard shirts whenever I visit the island of Oahu as they’re quite pricey. But, I happened to be in the area and the store had a Memorial Day sale going on, so in I went.
THE STORE: Located on the first level of The Shops At Wailea near the northern entrance, it’s a quaint space that’s full of inventory. While organized, the men’s shirts were hidden behind one another, so you had to put in the effort of hunting in order not to miss anything.
The sale rack was adequate but none of the patterns on discount caught my eye. Instead, I ended up finding the regularly-priced shirt I passed up on at their Ala Moana Center location as my second ever purchase.
SERVICE: The sole, young gal working was friendly, professional and even walked my bag around to me from behind the counter. Very classy. The only other time that happened was at Nordstrom Ala Moana.

The clerk (bald, older, male, with tattoos) was standing by staring at us the entire time we were shopping without saying a word - not even offering suggestions. It felt very awkward, he was not personable at all and appeared to look annoyed. This is completely unacceptable for customers who spend hundreds of dollars and who are repeat customers. Read moreI went here with my family and had very unfriendly experience. Everytime I come to Maui, I spend a few hundred dollars at this place. I wanted to buy a few shirts but the lady with an accent wouldn't attend to us. She kept talking to a customer who was trying to disengage and leave. In the past, we always had friendly customer service at both Wailea and Kaanapali stores. I am sure that lack of my sale wouldn't make any difference to Tori Richard.
