Vacation Maui Rentals — Local services in Maui

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this condo! The home has everything you need for a relaxing holiday (including beach towels, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, and beach chairs - all of which they don’t even tell you about!). The kitchen is well equipped and nicely updated. The bathrooms have obviously been recently renovated and are beautiful! The bedrooms are perfect. The view from the master bedrooms is second to none. We slept with the windows open to hear the waves. 😍. The kids slept with their windows closed in the second bedroom since they look out of the front and are quite close to the Highway and could have some traffic noise (a small price to pay. With the windows closed and the AC on there was never an issue). The air conditioning works well in both bedrooms and the living room to keep the entire condo cool. The pull out sofa in the living room was actually quite comfortable (according to my 12 year old son who LOVED sleeping there and listening to the waves). We (two adults, 14 year old, 12 year old, and 9 year old) had this home for 10 nights and couldn’t imagine a better place to stay. You have the quiet of a gated community, we felt safe letting our kids run ahead of us and just be kids, but you’re also extremely close to Lahaina and Front Street for any shopping or dining needs. Puamana is the BEST!

Above all the great things provided inside the condo is the backyard. The pictures do not do it justice! The grass area is room for kids to play. There is each access straight ahead (although this Beach was rocky, so we walked a bit farther into the Puamana community and used the beach there and it was our favourite place to play in the waves! Soft sand, no big pulls, and limited crowds). When you get tired of the ocean (or just need a break) all three pools in Puamana are fantastic. Our favourite was, of course, the Ocean Pool. It is such an incredible spot! However, both the Mountain pool and the Dolphin pool were a lot of fun. The Dolphin pool is quite warm, so if you’re wishing there was a hot tub, you may want to check it out!

Last but definitely not least, the property managers were fantastic! They reached out with advice and we’re very accessible. There were a few little things during our stay (e.g. the water filter in the fridge needed to be changed, the window screens kept falling out) that I contacted them about and they promptly responded that day or early the next day to address the issue. Our experience with Vacation Maui Rentals was a pleasant and positive one. We rented a condo at the Puamana Resort through them. The location was perfect for proximity to Lahaina and the property was just as gorgeous as described. We rented a one-bedroom that was very near to the front gate entrance, which was super convenient. It was quiet and we honestly never heard our neighbors. The walk to our favorite pool on the property was only minutes and the views were incredible. Other than to grocery shop or eat out, you don't really need to go anywhere else for a relaxing vacation. They have 3 pools on the property, plenty of walking acreage, sandy beach front for play, surf worthy waves, lounging areas, and picturesque views.

Vacation Maui Rentals were great at communicating if we needed anything regarding the rental. We had a maintenance issue that arose, and they had someone out to fix the problem within an hour or so. They had an easy app to download that had everything you needed about your stay(i.e. gate codes, driving directions to and from your rental, internet info, etc.) The rental was stocked with enough towels for the week, bars of soap, laundry detergent and dish soap, toilet paper, etc. The rental had a good amount of stocked cookware, plates, bowls, utensils, etc, as well.

I would say that the one thing I would have liked better about our rental, is the cleanliness of the condo. The floors were pretty dirty upon arrival(i.e. throw rugs were super dirty in the bathrooms and bedroom). The shower in the en suite bathroom had hair stuck to the walls from someone else's stay. The ceiling fans and lamps around the entire rental hadn't been dusted in months, was my estimation. I am a bit of a clean freak, so those things bothered me for the price we paid for the rental. I would expect those things to not be overlooked with my housekeeping expectations and standards. I didn't want to contact them about that kind of stuff, because I really just wanted to focus on relaxing and having an enjoyable vacation. I feel like if I would have nitpicked every little thing, I would have just stressed everyone involved out.

The location was fantastic and the condo was exactly as pictured. We ran into a couple of problems the first morning the coffee pot did not work (found a spare in the cupboard, but no pot that fit). We were brought a new one late afternoon. We could not get the stove to work strangest settings we've ever seen. Hubby reset breaker and finally was able to figure it out. There is instructions in the owners manual in the binder but they're complex and difficult to understand ~ not to mention tough to find in the thick binder. Took us over an hour to figure out and we're pretty handy people. A simple laminated sheet with instructions next to the stove would have been great since it's an uncommon device. No welcome basket made it seem a little impersonal but that might just be because we've always received one in previous places we've rented on Maui.
