I spoke to a lady about getting a cowboy hat resized. She explained how they would do it and the time line on getting it done. I brought the hat in the next day and spoke to a young lady about what we discussed to be done, I also asked to have my hat properly cleaned. She said it would be done by the next day and they would call me. I never received a call. After 3 days, I called to see if it was ready. The guy I spoke to said it “should” be ready and to just come up there, he never asked for my name to confirm. When I arrived, my hat was in the exact same condition. We discussed having the wire removed to improve the stretch but the wire was still intact. I explained to the guy that we talked about removing the wire prior to the stretch. He said “yeah, that sometimes helps” then asked to give him a minute to remove the wire and stretch it. I watched him remove it, steam it for MAYBE 30 seconds then stretch it for no more than 2 minutes. It obviously fit no differently considering the very small amount of effort and time he put into it. He said that’s all he can really do. He then recommended I use my hat stretcher at home to try to stretch it more… if I wanted to do it myself then I wouldn’t have brought it up there but the original lady made me feel like they had better methods. Also, the hat had NOT been cleaned at all. It had more dust on it than before. When I mentioned it, he brushed it off a few times and handed it to me, then charged me for the service. I've been looking for a cowboy hat for over a "year". This is Texas and one would think that would be easy but no. And with my XLarge dome, it was nearly impossible for me, until I drove to McKinney Hat Co. OMG! What a GREAT Cowboy Hat Store, hands-down the BEST IN TEXAS. They had several options in my size, i was amazed. And the best part the pros working there: Lauren was so knowledgeable, so kind, friendly and patient, as she walked me thru the process so easly, as we zeroed in on my hat. And, then Reilly, another superstar, she made a couple small adjustments to my fit and OMG, fire! the BEST COWBOY hat that I never thought I would find, much less have it fitted perfectly just for me. What jewels, the ladies of McKinney Hat Co. Lauren, Reilly and LC, all top quality individuals who made me feel like a million bucks, I didn't want to leave. And I'll definitely be back. Please don’t get scammed here. Went in to the McKinney location on a Tuesday to purchase a hat. Kirby said that she didn’t have it in store but it was at the other Dallas location and she could have it by Friday and took my information to call me when it was in. I didn’t hear from her so I went back in on Friday about an hour before they closed and was told they don’t have it and can’t get it for 5-8 weeks and tried to sell me another hat I didn’t like for twice the price. Kirby never called. I called 2 weeks later talk Kirby to see what happened and if they had any idea when it will be in. She said they don’t have that hat anymore and I said shouldn’t have waited so long to call. I explained that I had checked twice. She said “oh well sometimes we’re busy and it was just a miscommunication. When I asked for a manager she refused to give it to me and said to email the store and hung up on me.
