I have been in many Bikram studios across the country, and this was by far the most rundown. The studio was dirty, the padding for the floor was coming up from excessive humidity, and it had a terrible odor. But this wasnât the worst of it; the instructor was a good 20 minutes late leaving the class locked outside of studio, and the amount of noise coming from the reception area from people taking the class was so disruptive I was tempted to turn around and leave. The reception area itself was thrown together and unclean, it was the least amount of tranquility I have experienced. The talking, loud voices and cell phones going off were more like a concert than yoga! It is the tone the studio sets for its practitioners: rude. I donât know how anyone could practice here! I am not sure about the roomâs heating conditions, it didnât seem as hot in the beginning as it was at the end. It is too bad because the instructor was excellent probably one of the best I have had. Bikram is an intense practice, and the more tranquil the environment is prior to the class, the better the chance to acclimate to the conditions so I do not know how any studio would allow this much talk and loudness in the studio! Totally disappointed from beginning to end. Lastly, the person at the front desk and most likely studio manager/owner was so rude and unwelcoming she was painful to speak to - honestly just plain awful. Not a hello, how are you, what brings you to our studio - just sign this paper, girl bye. Because Bikram studios are so few and far between this studio gets away with all of this when really it should be turned into a storage...
Read moreI purchased a yoga pass from resort pass and my experience in this studio was not pleasant at all. To begin with when I arrived, the studio was closed with a sign saying that it opens 30 min before class. There was other yogis outside already waiting when the teacher arrived 8 min late. When it came to singing up for class I showed my confirmation from resort pass and the teacher, I believe her name was Jo with the green hair and a bunch of piercings had no idea what it was, and told me to go ahead and she would figure it out later. She called what I believe it was the owner, her name was Raquel. 15 min within me being in there and preparing myself to begin class the teacher calls me out of the room in front of the entire class. She tells me I could not stay while discussing with Raquel over the phone. I showed my confirmation and how I heard about them, and even how the resort pass redirected me to their website. The teacher took pictures from my phone and sent to Raquel. Eventually they said that I could not take class unless I paid $35 for the drop in fee. I asked if there was a complementary first class they said no and that I would have to leave because everything was on camera. Mind you this was my first time here and they were not professional at all, it caused me to feel embarrassed in front of all other students picking up my mat and towel. The owner was rude and the teacher was high I could see it in her glossy eyes and smelled her breath. Everything was unprofessional...
Read moreIt all depends what type of yoga youâre into. Personally Bikram is not my favorite itâs way too strict and military like but I do love a hot room so I like the Hot vinyasa or Hatha. I do sometimes take bikram because it helps my flexibility better than vinyasa but hereâs two things I really donât like about the bikram classes so youâre aware: 1. They insist you have your feet pressed together without taking into consideration this was created by a MAN with no hips đ if you have hips or curves the this is not ideal as there is not space in between your legs. any trauma informed yoga teachers knows how to adjust for people with different body types but thatâs the thing about bikram you take it or leave it.. very little room for individuality or adjustments. 2: I donât like that in the Bikram class the teacher leaves during the final Sivasana. This results in 80 percent of the class not doing it and then the people who do want to have to hear constant noise. I understand not everyone may want to stay that long but I think it should at least require 1 min to do it together so thereâs no disturbance. Sivasana is literally the most important pose of the yoga class to integrate. Ok so thatâs my ramble. In the end Iâm giving the studio 4 stars because I love the hot room and the...
