Yes, once they get around to it, they do a good job of grooming, but that's the problem, isn't it? You should not give this place your money or take your dog there unless you don't care that they are hours late or cancel your appointment without telling you. We took our dog, then a puppy, to La Vie several months ago. He looked great. Then we took him back a 2nd time. They claim they need the dog for 4 hours. OK, fine, one plans for this. This time they took SEVEN hours. Then we went back a 3rd time. They were booked a week in advance. Also fine. we make an appointment. On the day of the appointment I show up, dog in hand. They make up some bogus story about how "the other lady" (who this is remains a mystery) called to cancel our dog's appointment. Huh? That call never happened. So, there we are at 830am, with work appointments to fulfill and they just turn us away. The owner of the salon seemed entirely unconcerned and even yelled at me for not being pleased. Idiotic. Yes, I know this is Miami and one just has to lower one's standards and accept subpar service everywhere one goes--but for the kind of prices they charge, the very LEAST one should expect is to actually get the service one signed up for. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 Stars is not enough because it does not communicate the "over and above" service and experience my dog receives at La Vie. To give you a little history, my 10lb dog was bit by a much larger dog at a different daycare and needed stitches. As a result, obviously, I stopped using the other daycare. I have known Annie for over 11 years and when she later opened La Vie I spoke to her about this and his new aggression towards other dogs. They have been instrumental in helping me rehab my pet by creating a loving and safe atmosphere for him to play and socialize. They have the main area up front, plus a second room in the back as well as individual cages so it is easy to have your dog alone or in a small group. In the almost two years I have been taking him to her, he has become completely comfortable again and is no longer aggressive to larger dogs (well, most of the time). He stays with them for daycare regularly, but has also spent an entire week with Annie while I was away. I trust her completely and highly recommend her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen the Dog House on 9th street was sold I followed one of the groomers to La Vie. The first time I brought my 3 dogs to be groomed there I was less than satisfied and against my better judgement I gave them another try. The second time I dropped my 3 dogs off at 10 am in the morning and received a call from them at close to 5 that they were finished. When I picked them up my wife questioned whether the 3rd dog had even been touched. She wasn't. The feathers they put on the dogs are cute but their work is terrible. When they first opened the South Point dog park was loaded with dogs with feathers. I haven't seen a dog with feathers in the park for months. ( Big Clue ) To post this I'm supposed to check off a star as to my level of satisfaction but I don't have a minus 2 star option. Save your money, find another dog groomer or do it yourself. The posted photo was taken after my first visit months ago. I wish I had taken a photo after their last visit as they looked nothing like they do...
