My husband got me a massage certificate for my birthday, as this spa is a block away from where we live. When I got there, there was a pretty disinterested lady who attended to me. I disrobed and lay down on the massage table and waited.... and waited.... and waited. I ended up shouting a couple of times, "Hello! I'm ready!" Finally a lady named Moira came to give me a massage, which was spectacular. She seemed to have experience in Thai massage, reflexology, physical therapy, and chiropractics. However, while massaging my leg, she abruptly left the room. I waited for a while...and waited...and waited. Then I wrapped a towel around myself, looked outside and asked, "Oh, was that the end?" She said yes, but never told me at the time. Because of these two long, strange stretches of time that I was spending on the massage table wondering what the heck was going on, I left a ten dollar tip. As I was leaving, the staff informed me that if I didn't leave 20% tip, then Moira would not get paid. Huh? This is totally weird and awkward. Why not just raise the prices and let the clients tip as they feel inclined, instead of embarrassing both the employee standing there, and the client? Clearly other reviewers have felt the same way as I did. I gave the extra $22, which I think Moira deserved, but the spa's service was lacking a bit. Probably, I must say I will be going back because that massage...
Read moreI do not write bad reviews because I realize all businesses can have mishaps. However, when I feel like I was taken advantage of in purpose, I need to warn others. I came in and asked if they had time to do a gel manicure and that I had to be somewhere in about 45 minutes. They said that would be enough time. So they put me in a chair, cucumbers over my eyes, and the girl began the manicure - the one who knew I was in a hurry. Almost when she was done a woman asked if I would like a foot massage and I said sure. No mention of price or that it was even something they would charge for. The foot massage was great but I had to leave after about 10 minutes. When I got my bill it was $114!! The manicure was nothing special, not even a hand massage. The foot rub was about 10 minutes which, it's not her fault I had to leave by why would they trick me in to a $50 foot massage a) without telling me and b) the girl knowing I was in a hurry!!! I had planned on coming back the next day for a pedicure but I cannot give them any more of my money. If you go here, ask what things will cost before you agree to any of them, no matter how...
Read moreI came to Miami to relax and see a good friend. I got here in desperate need of a pedi and gel nails and my friend highly recommended Spa e. I now adore this tranquil slice of heaven and have been back for 2 more treatments. The spa is beautiful with an ocean vibe, very clean and offers a wide array of services.
The 'gel' nails were different than anything I've had before. First, the nails they put on were soft and comfortable. Then, there was no grinding or drilling or the mess you have with dips and other gel type of nails. The hand & foot massages were amazing. But the best part was the serene atmosphere and nice, professional staff. And I absolutely loved the soft spa bed/chair. You just lie there, relax and everything is taken care of for you.
I went back for the 'Oh So Deep' massage. Honestly one of the best I've had - it was actually deep. Today, I had the 'Sea Spa Glow' an amazing full body scrub followed by a moisturizing massage. I'm a happy camper.
Thank you Spa e for such a relaxing vacation....
