We visited Lincoln Square outdoor shopping mall in South Beach and we were craving seafood. There were restaurants of every kind imaginable, but we couldn't find one that specialized in seafood. Then we came upon The Lobster Shack located at 613 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139. We tried 2 Lobster Roll dinners. My wife tried the Spicy Lobster Roll 🦞 for $21.95, which was loaded with fresh lobster, jalapeño coleslaw, and fresh jalapeños. It was great and had a nice kick to it. We both loved it! To drink my wife had a margaritas for $10 and it tasted good, but it was served in a plastic cup. For $10, one would think the drink would be served in areal glass. I tried South Beach Lobster Roll for $22.95, which was also loaded with 🦞 lobster, avacado, coleslaw, and bacon. I have to say I like mine more, possibly because I love avacados! To drink I had a mojito for $10 and even though it was in a plastic cup, it was the best tasting mojito I've ever had!!! I want to know what mojito mix they use! It's awesome! I've attached some pictures of our food and drinks for your review.

The ONLY reason I am giving this review is because of the guest experience. Lobster Shack is one of my favorite places to dine when I am in town, but I’ve never been to this location. Upon checking out I asked if the 18% was included here like most places. The male staff member said its 10% and you add additional on top. He then said you need to make sure too 18% everywhere you go. This comment is tacky. While I understand people come to Sobe and may nor be accustomed to tipping however, to make an assumption is unfair to your guests. I’ve worked in restaurant management and I would never tell someone what to tip or assume they wouldn’t tip. My second problem is I tipped before receiving actual service and my actual service was not good. No one greeted us. We had to flag down a guy for water and I just can’t understand how I just spent $70 and felt so low. The dining experience here is very disappointing and as you can see I am a regular reviewer and always fair. I will not be returning to this location and I do plan on removing it from my restaurant suggestion for Miami Beach.

The Lobster Shack – Fresh, Fast, and Flavorful (Almost Perfect) We stopped by The Lobster Shack to try their famous lobster and crab combo, which also came with a side of soup. Overall, the experience was very positive – the food was fresh, the service impressively fast, and the location itself had a pleasant, coastal vibe that added to the atmosphere. The drinks were also a pleasant surprise – refreshing and well-paired with the seafood. My only critique, and it’s a personal one, is regarding the preparation of the lobster and crab. While both were clearly high-quality and well-cooked, they were boiled in plain water. Personally, I prefer when the seafood is infused with additional layers of flavor – herbs like dill, a hint of garlic, or spiced broth can elevate the experience significantly. That touch of aromatic seasoning would have made it perfect. Still, if you’re looking for a solid seafood spot with good energy, fast service, and well-executed dishes, The Lobster Shack is definitely worth a visit.

Overall Food: 2.5/5 Good food, but South Florida including Miami has so many AWESOME seafood restaurants. Ordered the SnowCrab Dinner and a Shrimp Taco. Mr. Shrimp offers 3 clusters and shrimp for $39, and whoa it blows this place away. Self serve style but they actually checked on the table 4x+ left a good tip for service. Got scammed by Lobster Shack.

WARNING TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: Read the reviews and responses from the owners, they're sarcastic and rude, not professionally responding. They claim they want repeat business on their website but on a response to a review: "Our service is limited at the Lobster Shacks. Thanks for the review." - SELF SERVE, you grab your drinks and they'll deliver the food to your table. That's ALL... so what self-serve business ask for gratutity of 15% mandatory? It's FAST FOOD service with required tipping!!! It’s a garbage setup but you think since Miami Beach you’d get decency for treatment. Nope.

Owners/Business Model: 0/5 Owners respond to low reviews that they claim the person only gives one star reviews. Perhaps if you improved your business model you would get repeat business. Fully expect to be attacked here even after leaving an almost 40% tip too!!!

I have left 16+ “5 star” reviews out of 25+ reviews. I leave more good than bad reviews as I know most complain but if you want a compliment, earn it.

Service: 1/5 Fast and quick is the only perk of service

Review: You order at a cash register and 15% is automatically added to any order. You’re not informed upfront or given the receipt until you tip and sign first.

I left 20% plus the 15%. I thought it would guarantee good service. But instantly I was told to grab my own beer and get seated. Ok not a great start but thought it would get better. But it didn’t as only a runner brought out our food, never had anyone come and check on us.

Cashier came by to pick up a dish and walk off but if I had wanted another drink or more food I would have needed to go back up to the cashier and place a second order and be charged more gratuity? They apparently don’t have servers like you expect. They have a cashier and food runners. Wonder if they’re even getting the tips?

Find another restaurant, there’s so much better. But if you want fast food seafood this is the solution just don’t tip like typical. They’ll bank on tourist money but as a local I cannot refer this fast food place nor would I return.

Banking on...
