UPDATE: Buyer beware!! We were asked to provide a review at the time of our purchase in the the store prior to receiving our furniture We did so as Richard, our salesman, was great. Now, I understand why we were asked to provide a review prior to receiving our furniture! Since receiving the furniture, it has been an absolute nightmare!
Unfortunately, our furniture was delivered damaged and our ongoing experience with Anthony’s has been negative to say the least. I’m sure they will delete this review, but I feel an obligation to others to post our experience.
We purchased an entire bedroom suite (Liberty Furniture Rustic Traditions) on 10/16/24. On 10/21, the items were delivered. Upon inspection that evening, we discovered one of the nightstands had been previously damaged (corner broken off) and a repair had been attempted. You could clearly see the crack and there was over spray on the front. Additionally, the headboard and footboard had scratches and mars. We also noticed the dresser had a very foul almost vomit like smell to it which the other pieces did not. We reported these issues to Anthony’s.
Throughout my many conversations with Jamie, the service manager, and others, I was told the foul smell in the dresser would improve if we aired the unit out. I was asked to “give it some time, possibly several months” for the odor to dissipate.
Approximately two weeks later, a replacement nightstand was delivered damaged and the delivery driver took it back with him.
We were given a new delivery date for replacement of these items and on the delivery date no one arrived. We were told this was a miscommunication and the date they shared with us was actually the date they expected to receive the replacement furniture.
A third delivery date was scheduled. I received a call at 6:50 pm that evening advising the delivery crew was stuck on another job and we would need to be rescheduled to the following week. The next week, upon delivery the headboard was delivered cracked top to bottom and was taken back by the driver.
From mid November thru 1/11/25, I placed multiple calls to Anthony’s regarding when our replacement furniture would be delivered. I asked to speak with the owner 4 times. I never received a callback from anyone.
Finally, on 1/12/25, I drove to the store and spoke with Tony. He was very apologetic and promised to make things right. I shared my husband had missed several days of work over the multiple deliveries. He told me we had been very patient and kind throughout this lengthy ordeal and he would call the following week with resolution and a new delivery date. He also told me if “anything is not right with this furniture purchased from them “even after 3 years,” they would make it right.
On 1/13/25, Jamie called to say the headboard was on the truck in Indiana and should arrive to them “any day.” She offered a very minimal amount of reimbursement for all of our time and issues. I told her this should be further reviewed with Tony.
On 1/17/25, our headboard finally arrived. Issues with the foul smelling dresser continued. On 1/24/25, I again called Jamie to say I’d heard nothing from Tony. She gave me the Dayton store number. I called and left a message for Tony. He returned my call on 1/25/25, and offered a small amount of reimbursement. I shared this offer was not reflective of good will and we were ultimately reimbursed a small amount more.
As of 5/18/25, the putrid dresser smell continued. Spoke with Richard and he passed this on to Cincinnati. I was supposed to get a call, but that didn’t happen. I ultimately spoke with Mike who said to air out. I said this has been done since delivery. He then informed me it had been months and they had done everything for us. He rudely stated maybe something had crawled up under it! He suggested wiping it out with Safeway cleaner. We did. The putrid smell continues.

They took special care in how they moved it in, offered to help get them in the right place, and offered suggestions to make sure we were not only satisfied, but HAPPY. Richard is an excellent sales person who helped on 2 visits delineate between the best sofa for our needs. He was patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about furniture options, manufacturing quality and different fabrics to choose from. Truly a pro's pro of furniture. The prices were very fair for the items we bought.
Once we made the purchase, he did a great job of helping us decide on how to handle delivery since we needed to delay for 2 weeks and the best way to handle that with Anthony's. We were so impressed we came back an hour later and bought a bed as well.
We just took delivery today from Anthony's in house delivery team and they were excellent to communicate before arrival, extremely thorough and professional and did a great job setting up our furniture.
