We come into this location often and usually have decent experiences. Tonight, however, was a terrible experience. Our server was nice but the manager was not the most pleasant, we felt very unwelcome; the food was much less than acceptable and it was a fight to get a receipt.
When we got there at 7pm, about 8 families were eating, 4 more arrived while we were there. I was not given a receipt upon paying but had my fiancee go back to ask for one. Their machine was down and they asked us to come back the next day. They had all but 2 sections shut down for seating, which is understandable when you're cleaning. When I went to get brisket, they didn't have any available. There was one cheese biscuit (which are my favorite) and it tasted like it had sat there all day yet they didn't bring anymore out.
At this point I was frustrated, and asked my fiancee to get a receipt a second time, so I could take this survey. He was told again that their machine was not working, so I figured we'd let it go and do without.
Around 7:45, I was getting up to get dessert and they had shut the chocolate fountain off and started disassembling it. I know this sounds silly, but that is my FAVORITE part about Golden Corral and I was really upset. I figured I would get ice cream instead. Well there were no bowls. My fiancee was really furious at this point, asked our server for a bowl, and went to demand a receipt.
He waited for 15 minutes while the manager tried to get a receipt. She handed him one, which we later noticed was for 2 senior dinners (we are 28). I went to get ice cream and there was no one there to serve it. So I settled for soft serve which was all over the machine and the floor. What came out was not ice cream, but melted liquid. I attempted to eat the little part of what was frozen but I didn't have a spoon (because there were none) so I gave up and we left.
This was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We arrived 2 hours prior to closing and we were treated like we walked in 5 minutes before closing. We asked for a receipt 3 times and finally got one that wasn't ours. I didn't eat the main things I went into the restaurant for. We will never go back to this location and will probably go to chuck-a-rama from now on. I paid $40+ for an experience that I wouldn't have if someone...
Read moreI called on 11/17/18 wanting information about whether or not this business would be open on Thanksgiving day and serving food. The girl who answered the phone had that tone of voice with me that suggested to me she was irritated with me for calling as if I may have interrupted whatever she may have been doing before my call. After telling me they would be open I had to ask her well then, what would the hours be? Again she seemed irritated that I would ask her the hours of operation. I was beginning to feel like I was pulling teeth from this chick to get answers! I then asked her the price for the Thanksgiving meal to go if I should decide I want to take it back home instead of dining in. That is when she told me she did not know and would have to ask her manager who should put on the phone with me. The manager quoted me something like $70 for an order that would feed something like 8 people. I explain to the manager that I would not need a to go order so big and asked him to quote me an order for only three people. The manager told me he did not know and he would have to check into it and call me back the next day. I thought this was a little strange that he could not tell me a price for three people over the phone right now although he just gave me a price for an 8 people meal. When he told me he would call me back the next day I knew right off he was giving me the brush-off and I had no expectations after hanging up with him that I would hear from him the next day! 11/19/18 My gut feeling was correct! The manager flaked me off and never called back yesterday! That's just fine with me,if you don't want my business then I won't bring it into you I will take...
Read moreWent for my oldest daughter's 16th birthday. The first place we headed to was the salad bar. It looked like they were starting to put it away with so many slots empty. The Spinich looked like an herb that had been set out to dry. It was like it had been out all day long and not been touched. This was my first indication that this was not the same golden coral used to each at years ago. The site was off putting. Nevertheless, I loaded my plate with what ingredients were left and headed over to the ranch dressing. As I put it on my plate, I noticed that it looked off. The consistency was different than the typical ranch dressing you see at any restaurant. I headed back to my table and took a bite. Something was off. I took another bite. Something was definitely off. I looked through the ingredients and thought maybe it was the ham chunks. So I pulled those out and took another bite. Nope. Something was definitely wrong with the salad. How do you mess up salad??? I set the plate of salad aside for fear I would end up with food poisoning. As I tasted several other dishes, I noticed everything tasted like it had come from a box. Nothing tasted fresh. Any meat I had tried was dry or undercooked. After a less than appetizing experience I had had enough and took my leave. This is where the real experience began. Later that night, I began having severe stomach cramping and other symptoms of food poisoning. Yep, I paid 16.29 for food poisoning and had to miss the next morning of work which was another financial loss to me because of this awful place. If I could rate it 0 stars I would. I will never...
