Kneaders Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Midvale

Arrived last night at 7:35pm, sat behind another car in the drive up order space for 10+ minutes. No one would respond to him from inside. So I backed over to a parking space and proceeded to go in to order. Times on the door said open til 9 or 10. At this point it was 7:53. There was a girl coming to the door and asked me if I was there to pick up an order I told her about waiting and just said I can order from inside. She said something about closing and walked off. I ordered 2 French dip. The girl that took the order was real nice. As I waited for them to fix the order there was a girl with a head set on by the window, she was clearly on her phone and not paying any attention to the window as the guy I was behind in the drive up a few moments ago was now at the window knocking. She never responded to him. Another worker did, and it turns out he was picking up an order. But in all the time he spent waiting for a response at the order thing in the drive up and knocking at the window I'd say he was there for over 20 minutes. While I was inside they did lock the door to others, but were still real busy making orders I assume to be picked up. I did get my 2 French dips to go and said thank you to the nice girl working the front. Didn't think to check the bag before I left. At this point it is about 8:10pm. As I walked out, there were 3 other cars sitting in the drive through trying to get a response from inside, but by this point the girl who was at the window on her phone the time I was inside, had since left the window at least 10 minutes sooner. The door was locked behind me however all the lights inside and outside indicating they were still open were on, including the "open" sign in the window. Got home pulled both orders out of the bag and realized we only had 1 small bowl of the dip sauce. Should have been 2, with 2 orders. We ordered with the sour dough bread, inbetween the bread was 1 maybe 2 small pieces of meat. Mind you I have had these before and know what to expect. The other order we got was the same way. Paid $20 for 4...

Went in to purchase some rolls. Quite busy this morning with many having an early Fathers DY breakfast. Asked for a dozen rolls and asked if I could get a half dozen rolls extra (expecting 14-15 for dinner tomorrow) and was told "Sure". Paid and moved out of the way of other customers. Looked at receipt and found I had charged for a dozen (5.99) and $7.50 for 6 single singles (@1.25 ea). Pointed this out to fellow who handed me my order and he was surprised and asked another employee if this was right. I said that was ridiculous and he asked if I wanted him to take back the bag with 6 joined, not "single" rolls, and get another dozen? I said OK. Took another dozen rolls for the 6 "singles" ànd ate the other $1.51+tax rather than waiting on the growing line of other customers. I guess they rarely get someone who needs just 6 rolls at a time, but make it clear that quantities of less a dozen are at a premium ($1.25ea). If I had asked for 11 rolls, I guess I would have been charged $13.75 or $1.77 more than 2 dozen. What do you think?

Went tonight for a roast beef sandwich. Ordered it w/ no veggies and double meat. Got it and checked it since frequently the double part gets missed. Looked like it was a short of a double, showed it to the cashier and she said she would take care of it. Returned in a couple of minutes and a quick check seemed to pass inspection. What I found out about it was that there was no cheese, I'd missed that, and that instead of roast beef I had a Bacon sandwich. While not what I ordered, while it was quite tasty, I just wish I could get what I order. The receipt showed what I ordered, just not what I got. 3 stars not 5...

The worst place. Walked in, none of the employees acknowledged me at the register, when one of them finally decided to stop standing around to take my order, they proceeded to have the worst attitude possible… took forever to get the food. Ordered to dine in but they bagged everything up instead. Forgot the chips, when I went up to ask for the chips I didn’t receive, they again had a ridiculously bad attitude. Half of the sandwich’s bread was literally so stale and hard I couldn’t even bite into it. And the seemingly simple slice of apple pie I ordered, had actual mold on the bottom. I was so done with situation I just left. Will never return. Will always talk bad about this place from here on out. I can’t even believe how badly the quality of this place has gone down. Your prices are insanely expensive for small portions and horrible quality…. And why. WHY do you guys have to use as many plastic containers as possible. Why can’t you use paper bags like everyone else. You don’t offer recycling and the amount of plastic I just had to throw away was sickening. Especially since I tried to avoid the plastic all together by dining in! Get it together. This is a pathetic excuse for a business and I really hope a better competitor comes in near by and completely takes...
