Let me first say, this restaurant rocks! The menu is a wonderful array of small and large plates with a lot of selections from the Vegetable/Meat/Fish categories. Secondly, the service was impeccable! I want to thank Anthony Trester, the manager, for helping making my birthday dinner very special!
We tried a majority of the menu lol and left stuffed in a good way :)! We had the Grilled Octopus, The Spanish Mackerel, Gulf Shrimp, Polpettes, Beet salad, Gazpacho, and Paquillo Peppers as our small plates. I found the true winners to be the Shrimp (The Heads were sublime!), the Mackeral, and the Octopus.
As our Large plates, yes we went a bit overboard lol, we had the Lamb Chops, the Whole Branzino, and the Carbonara pasta. All were fantastic! My favorite was the Branzino, it was flawless!
Dessert now, lol, was great. We had the Olive Oil Cake with Candied orange rinds, the Butterscotch Mouse, and the Peach Torte. The Olive-Oil Cake was INSANE! I could have kept eating it and the Butterscotch Mouse was nuts also.
During the meal, Anthony, the manager was stopping over occasionally to chat, and being a huge Whiskey fan, that I am, we had a bunch to talk about. He had a couple that weren't on the list yet and I ended up switching from the High West Yippey Kay Yay to the Elmer T. Lee after Anthony had showed me he had it. Also, my father-in-law is a huge Highland Park Scotch fan, but they didn't seem to have that line yet, so he was drinking the Balvenie 14yr, which is very nice. My wife and mother-in-law were enjoying some of their nice wines on the list.
The coup-de-gras for the evening was at the end, when Anthony had Joe the Bar Manager from The Outsider on the roof, come down and get my wife and I and get us a booth at the bar. What service from both sides of the property. Joe and Anthony helped make my Birthday dinner extra special and if Heather was around, I would have loved to give her a hug and tell her that she is doing an incredible job in the kitchen.
My wife and I will definitely return and I believe my in-laws already have 2 more reservations on the books there!
Please go and have a wonderful experience for yourselves, you will...
Read moreWe dined here for my birthday on 11.9.24. I will state we did not have a reservation. We were seeing a play at the Skylight theater (8p) and thought we'd drop in for a nice dinner before heading to the show. Gregory, the host, (I believe that's what his name was) was nice enough to get us a table facing the street. Our backs were to the bar and the rest of the restaurant, but we didn't mind. Gregory stated we wouldn't have a bar tender but would have a hostess. He said he'd take our drink order and he did. We did not order appetizers but ordered our entrees as soon as Desiree, our hostess, arrived. Our entrees took almost an hour to get to us. I called Gregory over and notified him we'd been waiting a long time for our food. He said he'd check. He did not return however, the food and drink manager, who's name escapes me, returned and apologized for the delay; he did not initially offer an explanation but asked if we wanted to order more drinks; we did. I expressed to the manager that we'd been waiting a very long time and even though we were appreciative of how quickly they were able to accommodate us, we still expected to be served timely, considering. The manager then offered some explanation along the lines of the cooking staff being busy and when appetizers are ordered then that gives time for entrees to come timely. We didn't order appetizers and it was our choice. The choice not to order appetizers should not have affected the speed in which our entrees were cooked and/or presented. When our food arrived, it was delicious however, the time it took to receive it was disappointing and the explanation given, overshadowed the taste. This place is pricey to say the least, however that wasn't the issue. The service was the issue. Not once did anyone apologize and say the next round of drinks you order will be on us. Our bill was $172.36. Luckily our show didn't start until 8p. We'd been in that restaurant since at least 6p. We saw our actual hostess twice. Most of what I noted here, I also wrote on the receipt. I don't think we'll be...
Read moreA group of a dozen coworkers and myself visited Tre Rivali for drinks and appetizers on the rooftop, followed by dinner in their private dining room. I was absent for the drinks and appetizers portion, however my coworkers said it was very nice and the meat and cheese board was impressive. I did venture to the rooftop when I arrived, and will definitely plan on visiting again to check it out, as the space looked awesome.
Our dinner was served family-style, and almost too much food was provided. We left satisfied with the atmosphere, service, and dinner. The room we were in was nice, however my only issue was the table was so long, and the seats were so large, that even though we only had about 12 people, you were unable to speak to people more than two seats away. The other end of the table might as well have been in another room.
Some highlights were the Polpette meatballs, sesame hummus, pastas (Marscarpone Cheese Ravioli was amazing, and the Pappardelle was good as well), Grilled Swordfish, and dessert. We tried the Chocolate Torte and the Warm Apple-Almond Crostata; the crostata was fantastic, with amazing ice cream and salted caramel sauce on top of the warm crostata. The Tomato Tartlet was definitely one of my favorites, with goat cheese custard and perfectly delicious green olives. The Escarole and Celery Salad was another hit; everyone loved the hint of lemon. The Grilled Florentine Steak was a standout, especially duck fat roasted potatoes that accompanied.
We had a wonderful and delicious experience. If you are looking to splurge on a meal (as Tre Rivali is definitely on the pricey side), I would recommend a visit. They took great care of our group, and I look forward to going back (especially to have the Tomato...
