Iāve never written a google review before but something in my body made me feel like I needed to come on here to express some thoughts. I come here often to see some of my friends and favorite djās play. Iām aware this isnāt a very high end place and I definitely know that management probably doesnāt have high expectations when it comes to some of their bartenders especially with how they treat people. I understand the crowds can be a lot with people being a sloppy drunk or just off their s* but I can assure you I was sober and polite and therefore what I had experienced last night wasā¦interesting? (Coming from someone whoās been in the service industry for over 10 years in all different scenes.) My friends and I got settled in and I noticed my phone was at 5% and eventually I was going to need to Uber home safely. I do take accountability for not having it charged but things got in the way during the day and things happened. Regardless, I decided I should still ask the bartender if there is a charger that I could plug my phone into for just 15 min. When I did, she looked at me weird up and down and explained how her phone was charging. No problem, so I had asked if I could check in in an hour and she proceeded to have an attitude before saying āif you tip meā in which I would have but not after all of that extra weird energy. Iām a very understanding person when it comes to being bothered when youāre busy but it was only me and her at the bar at the time so I was a little confused until I realized sheās genuinely was just being petty and weird. I then went to another bartender who willingly charged my phone for 30 min and tipped him because Iād rather pay the business that doesnāt mind me. Also, things like that make these spaces feel unwelcoming and less safe especially for womenās safety and peopleās well being. That entire night my friends and I spent over $300 there like any other time that we go and I think itās a slap in the face to the people who come here and spend a check and tip well to keep this hole in the wall type of place alive. This isnāt the first encounter Iāve had with her, Iāve always came to her nicely, and I'm never sloppy because thatās not my speed but no matter what, she always has an attitude. Biting the hands of the people who come here often and tip you regularly/well is weird and from here on out Iāll most definitely be getting my drinks made by literally anyone else but her. She probably wouldnāt be so desperate to make some money if she actually knew how to pull the ropes in this industry. You can be nice and still be firm with people when needed but having a weird attitude makes you less money and if you didnāt know that by now use this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst. Concert. Experience. Ever. Went to see HALIENE live. The doors to enter the venue arenāt labeled, their marquee wasnāt even on, place looks like itās shut down. ONE person to check IDs, bag, and wand you down as you enter. Once you get into The Loft, itās a super rundown industrial business building. The room is awkwardly laid out, the stage is tiny. And they just have 4 speakers strapped together for sound (2 on each side). They have no idea how to mix live vocals. All the sound was muddy. They had the sound so loud, all you could hear was reverberation around the room because the room wasnāt filled enough with people. Even when the music was low; and the performers were speaking you couldnāt understand them because the sound was so bad. The lighting is so minimal. No spotlights so you could see HALIENE on stage. She was in the dark most of the time. I heard the crowd chatting and screaming at each other MORE than I could hear the person I paid to see. I hope she doesnāt write of Minneapolis because of this venue. DO NOT GO HERE TO SEE LIVE music. If you just want wubs and flashing lights,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVenture is nice and always fun to see artists here. Someone Needs to talk to the sound guys though.
I went to a Trap show and they had the subs basically off for most of the show. I thought they were having technical problems, but they said it was intentional. They really need to understand the importance of Bass with the different electric genres. It's like turning down the vocals at a rap show. It really killed most of the show. I felt like I was listening on a giant cellphone. You can't have a Trap show without Bass. You...
