I usually don't write long reviews but I think its necessary. The service was terrible. We went to the rooftop (on a rainy day it wasn't raining when we got there ) around the time it was not as busy. The Hostess explained to us that we should probably wait by the bar in the mean time while the clouds go away, and then go back to him so he could sit us. It made sense so we did that.. (despite having tables open with umbreallas) we were at the bar it took 10 minutes for the bartender to bring the menu to us. While we were standing cause no chairs were available. We waited another 10 minutes for her to notice us and get our drinks it took maybe 8 minutes to get my drink and then they didn't have the liquor (based on thier cocktail menu) for my friends drink so we had to wait like another 15 minutes for it.
While we were waiting for our drinks we noticed that the Hostess was sitting down people in tables with an umbrella.. right away.. so we were like okay? Why wouldn't he allowed us to go sit down at a table with an umbrella? That was really rude. I would understand if they had made reservations but when we first asked the other hostess on the first floor she said there was a lot of tables available, no reservation required. As we were still waiting for our drinks we noticed that all the empty tables started to fill up. We couldn't find the hostest again he was nowhere to be seen. We were waiting for 20 minutes , so we just asked the bartender to order our food and if they could bring it to the table. She said yes, and we went and sat our selves at the last table with an umbrella just to be safe. Since no one wanted to help us.(Bartnender didn't even say which table we were supposed to sit). The umbrella was not placed right. Ourselves had to move it so it would cover the table.. Our server came up and asked us if we wanted to eat something, he was very attentative and we asked him if he could adjust the umbrella and he did. He was super helpful. We explained to him that we had already ordered our food at the bar and we told him all about it. We waited another 30 minutes for our food to come to us. The server was like we were looking for you guys , we couldn't find you. Well the bartender didn't say which table to sit so we just sat at the table with the only umbrella left. It was no big deal but it really sucked.
The food was good. Overpriced that's for sure. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. For $25 dollars I expected cheese on it. It was basically pasta noodles with lobster. No creamy cheese sauce.. if your going to advertise mac and cheese make sure the sauce is there. It wasn't terrible but we both were so hungry after waiting almost over an hour for a table/drinks/food we just wanted to eat. The drinks were fantastic.
I think they were very disorganized, not very good at customer service, lack of communication (except for our server). I understand everyone has off days but the lack of organization, communication, and service was terrible. I feel bad for the bartender becuase it also wasn't her fault either she didn't have a lot of the liquors when she was making drinks for other people. They were stocking up on items as we were waiting.
I would leave 3 stars but I think it needs to be noted that we literally had to do everything ourselves and we waited over an hour to be seated because WE had to make sure we could...
Read moreCrave employee stole my credit card info
One of the employees stole my credit card information. They must of taken a picture of it and then made random charges at Crave for different days. I had a total of 5 charges for random amounts and days so spaced apart, it wasn’t a charge hold.
I of course called Crave and talked to a very nice manager named Drew. That was the first few charges(Saturday). I chalked it up as our server messing up. When my card had charges 4 days later, I called my bank with fraud and shut off my card. Waited 3 hours for a manager from Crave to call me back, nothing. Called and spoke to Drew again. Again, he was very apologetic and sweet. There is no denying someone that works at Crave stole my info, but Drew was steady in defending the server, which is admirable, but not the time. Plus, our server was incredibly rude to us. We also noticed the server took my card(after I told him what I was paying for only.) swiped at one station right in front of us, walked to 2 other machines. My friend pointed it out, but I gave the benefit of the doubt the machines were broken. Nope...Did I mention the waiter apparently said he got confused cause we had 2 drunk people in our party of 8. I can see how a sober me telling him exactly what I ordered, me signing one slip for 14.59, would confuse him into charging my card 5 different times days and days later.
Crave has given me back some of the charges, but still waiting on one. I’m also still waiting to hear back from Crave on what happened. Drew said he’d call me back, after they looked into the theft, but hasn’t. I suspect Crave won’t waste their time calling me back since Drew’s nice demeanor changed after I declined the gift card cause I won’t be back.
If Crave doesn’t credit the last charge, I’m contacting the BBB and the police for theft.
If you all are smart, don’t go to Crave unless...
Read moreOverall, I would say what most people have said about Crave to be true. Luckily I booked us a reservation because the people who were walking up were waiting 45min plus (Sunday evening of a show at Orpheum). I found it odd though because there were about 5-6 tables by us that were 4 tops that were open the entire meal.
Food- The food was delicious. We had no complaints in how the food tasted or the price we paid for them as it was reasonable. We checked online for the menu and were disappointed that they had a different menu for the Event. The Poke bowls were like 5 dollars more expensive then their "dinner" menu. So I got something different. Which was still very good.
Server- He was very different. Like someone else had mentioned, he acted like we were already best friends and was very charming. My problem was that he was clearly trying to upsell at every opportunity possible. That made the relationship weird because even when we said no he still kept asking about different thing. My overall negative was at the end of the dinner he asked if we wanted the bill or more water. I said I would like the bill as we had to leave. He came back with the bill and more water. Fine, so I get my card out and put up the check so he knew to come by to get it. He NEVER came back to get it. I could have walked out of the dinner without paying because he never came back for us. I ended up walking to the front of house manager (about 15 min later) and asked him to ring me up so we could leave. That left a bad taste in my mouth because he knew we had to leave. I felt like he was upset that we did not take the upsells and did not care anymore about us. I would try some of the other places in the area and maybe sit at the bar instead, but I was not too thrilled about the lack of care at the end...
