It’s great to have parking so close to the ship however the area is stressful chaos. There has to be about 4-5 lanes of traffic entering the parking garage at any given time and unless you know the area, you aren’t aware of the other lines forming. We tried entering off the expressway and stay to the right. That meant our line rarely moved and people were doing u-turns and exhibiting various aggressive driving as we all crept forward. After 40 minutes of this, we were at a total standstill for about 20 minutes as they allowed other lanes of traffic enter. Then, factor in the train tracks that have to be crossed to get in. Such a nightmare!
Above all, I have to say the employees were fantastic. They all care and they are all professional. Each one greeted us with a smile and treated everyone the same which is great because there was no visible “preferential treatment.”
As you pull in to the garage, you stop in a few lanes to have your luggage unloaded. Have your trunk ready with ready to pull items. There was one car near us that had trash, clothes, and various store bags jammed in between suitcases. That car slowed down the lane and was not appreciated by the lines of cars trying to get on the ship. Have tip money handy.
When you are done here, you can pull forward to the parking garage on the left or pull forward if you are to be dropped off. As with any garage, just drive up a level or so before you start looking for a space, most spaces are fairly close to the elevator area.
Make sure to pay online and register your plates and there is no additional drama to deal with as you park your car and prepare to wait in more lines to get on...
Read moreGetting in to park is interesting to say the least with people fighting over who is next in line because traffic backs up past an intersection so the people turning onto the road don’t want the people coming through the traffic light to merge into the lane. They really need police or someone there to manage the situation better. Then once you get to the building they have taxis, shuttles and vehicles all coming in three lanes at the same time. The parking garage sits behind railroad tracks and because a train was stopped on the tracks, our leaving the parking garage was delayed about an hour which also delayed those trying to enter. Just be prepared to be very patient and cautious. Do NOT arrive before the time to enter because they will not allow you to line up and force you to drive away (officers do enforce this). Once inside, the parking spots are tight but work, however once it’s full they will send you to an overflow lot (even if you prepay). It was nice to have covered parking and handicap parking near the elevators for those...
Read moreOMG is all I can say. No way this could be considered a top-notch cruise terminal. The lines are forever to get in and pick up people once they're off the cruise. Horrible horrible design. Everybody has to go through the same line whether you're picking up or dropping off. No one to tell you that you can bypass the sit still line for the people who are wanting to get on the ship and go pick somebody else up. Then when you get in the garage to pick that person up if for some reason they're not ready right then you have to leave go out make all the turns go through traffic lights and come back. I will never bring anyone to this Cruise terminal ever again. What a...
