Mobile Civic Center — Local services in Mobile

I attended Gabriel Iglesias show on November 6. I planned ahead and arrived in Mobile by 7 pm so I could try to park. The show was supposed to start at 8pm. Traffic was a NIGHTMARE!!! Traffic was backed up for parking on every street to get to the parking lot for civic center. Luckily I found a parallel parking spot on main road because traffic was at a standstill when I got close. I have never attended an event where there wasn’t someone directing traffic when a large crowd was expected. Also, once inside, only 2 people working merchandise table. Lines for merchandise table were more than ten wide and more than 25-30 in each line there. I didn’t even attempt to purchase anything. Then there was the seating inside the civic center arena. Narrow chairs were packed into rows so tightly that unless you were a size 2, you weren’t sitting shoulder to shoulder and no leg room for anyone over 5’7”. So uncomfortable sitting through the whole show. The comedy was great though!!! I guess I’m just used to better venues and more experienced people planning for traffic issues. Visiting from out of town and had a horrible experience. I wanted to see what was going on as I am not from the area, the first door I went to was locked. I then saw everyone entering the theater enterance. coincidentally an old white woman walked out when I was coming up the steps. She yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT!" I tried to explain I just wanted to walk around the building and asked if that was allowed, but I did't get that far. "WHAT DO YOU WANT" I had asked if we needed tickets to enter the building or if it was free she yelled "HUH?" and stood there with an angry look on her face as if I was stupid. At that point I just crossed this off my to do list and walked off. She continued screaming to me down the sidewalk, mentioning a dance recital. Was unsure if that meant it was a private event that booked the whole building but after her behavior was...

I went to the Kevin Gates concert and there's no real signs on where to go to line up for the event.

The security they have is wonky and let's their friends set where they aren't suppose to. I seen so many people go into the pit and it was always someone the security knew.

The security people checking purses and such didn't really look or even search anyone whose light went off when they walked through.

There's no food , just beer ,water , or soda.

The bathroom was so disgusting!!!! It looked like no one has ever cleaned the sick or toilets!

They allowed people to smoke pot, basically you could do whatever you wanted to do.

I will never go back to this place. I do not recommend it. Don't waste your money on this disgusting place. I thought it would be nicer than that but it was...
