Black Barrel Vintage Co — Local services in Monroe

This is the 3rd vintage and/or antique store in Monroe that falsely advertises their store hours. This store in particular we've tried 2 times (today being one of them) and they were NOT open when they said they would be. Today (Sun) they were supposed to be open until 5pm...we got there at 3:58pm & they were closed. Another time we tried was a Saturday (supposed to be open until 530 I believe). We got there around 230 "ish" and they were closed that time as well. Neither times we went were there signs stating "closed due to____" This seems to be a common occurrence in Monroe and it's unbelievable. If you aren't going to be open don't advertise these hours, period. It's a shame that multiple times we've tried to ship here you are closed. Will NEVER shop here and don't recommend. We are major antique and vintage shoppers who go to these type of stores every weekend and spend a lot of money. Unfortunately this place that looked cute won't be...

Oh my gosh, how have I never stumbled on this store before? It’s adorable! I’m not one to typically write Google reviews, but I felt compelled. It has a little bit of everything. Downtown Monroe is beautiful, and this shop is right on the main street. I came in looking for a unique gift for a friend. You know, not the type of thing you could get at a department store. I got a few unique bracelets, and the owner convinced me to smell some of the candles (she literally makes then in the back ), I’m not exaggerating when I tell you…These are the best candles ever. I’ve already burned through four or five. And now I have an order to satisfy all the gifts I need to get for people for the holidays. My favorite is the salted caramel and anthropology. Cutest vintage shop in town!!! Great variety with super prices! If you're on the hunt for a special piece make sure to check Black Barrel Vintage Co first! As soon as you walk in the delicious aroma of freshly poured candles makes your mouth water (I guess they're poured right there in the shop). I couldn't get out of there without picking out a few myself..... Lemon Poundcake is my favorite!!! Everything is decorated so nicely & lots of great ideas. The gals working are always so helpful & inspiring! You gotta check...
