Tijuana Restaurant — Restaurant in Monroe

I had a mixed experience here. Initial service was fantastic; we came in and got seated almost immediately. The waitress was by to get our drink orders within a few minutes and had those out to us lightning fast.

Then she disappeared. I was happily drinking the great margarita when my daughter pointed out that they hadn't come back to take our order yet. That's when I realized that while we had talked among ourselves about our food we hadn't had the chance to order yet. We'd been there for over half an hour. A quick look around saw one waitress standing idly by the back door and the other no where in site. I attempted to flag one down and while it looked like she was coming over she then detoured and ended up back by the back door again standing idly.

It took another 10 minutes to get a waitress to actually take our order.

After that things were back on a great track. The food was out quickly and tasted fine.

The food was a bit expensive but the drinks were priced low and were strong. I'd be willing to give them...

Service was terrible. Waitress only came around when it was convenient for her. She never refilled the refreshments (e.g. chips & salsa, water, etc.) We asked for a menu for drinks and it was promptly responded to with 'you don't need one, I can make you anything'. Little did I know that the reason why was so the she could overcharge us at least a dollar on each item we ordered. When contested she rolled her eyes and said 'oooookayyyy', like we didn't see the prices on the menu in the first place. And she never put the correct price either. My gf contested only one item and the waitress took barely 50 cents off despite the fact that she overcharged us by 5 dollars. Also, when we first walked in, the staff was talking about my gf not knowing that she speaks fluent Spanish. That's not to Say the food wasn't good, just a terrible example of customer service. We ordered catering from Tijuana Restaurant for our small backyard wedding at an airbnb in Index. The food was delivered hot (even though the driver got a bit lost- my fault for not sending better instructions). The driver was incredibly polite and professional and the food was AMAZING.

We ordered street tacos, enchiladas, tamales (my fave), ceviche, quesadillas, and a bunch of other items. My husbands favorite item was the ceviche... and the complimentary salsa, which came in big to go containers which we’ll be eating for weeks to come. The chicken burrito appetizers we ordered were amazing and disappeared quick! It was all so good and the communication before the event was top notch. I will definitely be dining here again and ordering catering from them if I ever have another event in the area. I cant say enough good things about this place! Can’t wait to dine in and...
