DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL. THE STAFF DENESE IS AGGRESSIVE AND RACIST!! The hotel staff lost my valuable luggage and refused to find it until I provided evidence that they took it from me.
Upon arrival, I explained to the front desk about my request of receving a delay luggage suitcase from Delta airline that the airline will have delivery driver to send my luggage to the hotel today. A male employee was kind and promised me the hotel will handle the luggage and call me as soon as the luggage arrive, so I can come and pick up in the front desk.
I was disappointed to find out that my luggage already arrived over 3 hours without any call from the hotel, despite the luggage arriving earlier (3:54 pm) than the expected time (6 pm).
When I found out I received a message directly from the delivery driver that the luggage has arrived, I made the first call (6:02 pm) to front desk, a staff named Denese pickded up the call and told me the hotel didn’t get any bag today from the airline. I got worried and said I will confirm with the deliver driver then.
After hanging up the call, I looked into the luggage tracking system and found a delivery photo that the driver took after dropping off the luggage. I immediately recognized the luggage was dropped at the hotel 1F valet.
Then, I made the second call (6:07 pm) to the front desk, Denese pickded up the call again, and I started explaining that the deliver driver has a photo showing my luggage was dropped at the hotel 1F valet. I asked if the front desk can send someone to check if my luggage is indeed there, and she said she still insisted the hotel had nothing to do with my luggage and they were sure my belongs is not received by them. I immediately took a taxi to the hotel, with a hope of finding my luggage back. (even if the Cambria hotel staff doesn’t seems to care as much as I do)
After getting back to the hotel, I first went to the 1F valet trying to find my luggage, but I didn’t see the luggage and I couldn’t find anyone in the service area. So, I headed to the 5F front desk. Denese told me she was the one on the call with me and she still can’t find any luggage. She insisted that the bag must being sent to a wrong address. I was super frustrated and showed her the delivery photo that I am sure the luggage IS IN THIS HOTEL RIGHT NOW, and I was almost bagging the front desk to please help give my luggage back. Again, Cambria hotel staff doesn’t seems to care about their customer’s precious belongs, and Denese got annoyed by me and yelled at me asking me to come to the storage room to FIND THE BAG MYSELF. She kept repeating “COME AND SEE!” “NO BAG!”. I was actually very antixous to being yelled in public. I almost bagged her to just look at the delivery photo again that it does shows the luggae IS IN THIS HOTEL NOW. Even if I don’t want to, but I felt I had to show my attentuid and stand my foot, so I told her to find my bag or I will definely submit a compliant.
At this moment, Denese got mad at me and yelled at me in the hotel, with all the other customers around. I felt stressful and anxious because the Cambria hotel staff was so emotional. As I knew, we eventually found the luggage that is locked in the 1F valet storage room, which I already told her in the very beginning. She just didn’t want to listen to the customer. I was trying to figure out the situation and the reason why the hotel lost my luggage, but she didn’t care and wanted me to go away or just report her. She even smirked at me when I left which made me so frustrated. I asked for manager and Denese just laughed and said “NO MANAGER IS HERE TODAT” and she asked me to go...
Read moreVery centrally located. The valets were fast and very reliable. The rooms were nice. The only thing we struggled with was the ventilation in the room itself. The humidity was so bad that even with the AC running the room, never dried out and you always feel sticky even after you got out of the shower. For this reason, your towels do not dry. They do not dry at all ever. Everything else about the room was fine but not having better ventilation or a way to have your towels dry without calling housekeeping every single day was frustrating. Parking per night was expensive but all hotels downtown charge you a lot for parking. If you want to tip your valet, you have to either have a lot of cash on you for the In-N-Out of your car, which is unlimited or you have to pay the service fee for using your credit card, which doesn't seem fair. By that point because of the cost of parking you feel a little bit like you're getting nickel and I'm paying that service charge especially when they encourage you to use their texting method for requesting your car and so on. That convenience is there I'm sure for the hotel and for the valets, but the convenience should also be there for the customer and we should not be absorbing a service fee in order to appropriately tip the valet. That should be the cost of doing business for the hotel and they've passed it on to the customer which I disagree with.
From that location, it is easy to walk just about anywhere of interest in the area, music row, Union Station the gulch, fifth and Broadway the Ryman grand Opry or the stadium. The city was certainly on the cleaner side of what I've seen in other cities. Since it is not on top of music row, but not too far either you are away from all the noise once it's time to retire for the evening. We stayed on the seventh floor, which was nice and quiet, but it took our full body weight to punch our way into the door every time we wanted to come back. It was not easy to get those doors opened and closed. They stuck really badly. Also, even though the room is well decorated, and the beds are cool looking the design of them by nature seems to harbor a lot of dust and grime and who knows what else from previous guests and I think the housekeeping staff would do well to use some sort of crevice cleaner to get in around the base of the beds Where everything falls from the mattress and gets caught. Seeing all that dirt and dust in there where you're supposed to sleep is a bit off putting because you know it's there from strangers and you don't really know what it is. We really appreciated the Nashville sightseeing magazine Within the room and ended up using it a lot more than I...
Read moreI was in Nashville to attend a conference. This hotel was not part of the room block the conference was using, but those were sold out. The Cambria was right across the street from the convention center so the location was perfect. It was also in the heart of downtown Nashville and easy to get to.
The pros: The bed was very comfortable which seems to be unusual these days. The bathroom was great, and the shower was fantastic. We used the TV very little, but when we did, there were plenty of options. The hotel is close to just about anything you want to do downtown, and there are many, many options for entertainment.
The cons: We had been driving all day and knew we would be arriving late evening. We called when we were about an hour out to ask if there were food options available at the hotel other than the rooftop restaurant (we really weren't dressed or ready for anything fancy). We were told that was the only option, so we grabbed something before reaching the hotel. Upon arriving, we noticed there was a bar right next to the check-in desk and they were open and serving food. After we valeted our car (the only parking option at the hotel), we loaded our luggage on a cart and went up to the 5th floor check-in. We had too much luggage on the cart and were really struggling to get off the elevator. The staff just stared at us without any offer of assistance. Had I been a guest and saw someone struggling like that, I would have offered to help. When we were checking in, we asked about the closest place to get breakfast in the morning (my wife is dealing with a serious knee issue so the closer the better). We were told about a place 2 blocks away. When we went to leave for breakfast the next morning, we discovered a nice restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. I would assume that they are not officially connected to the hotel. But given we had asked for the closest place, I would have expected them to tell us about this place. The gym is lacking in equipment. Several nice treadmills and ellipticals, but no bike. The equipment they did have was very nice. Just not many options. And finally, the room was nice, but very, very small with almost no place to store your clothing, and the refrigerator was not working well at all. And trying to regulate the temperature in the room proved very difficult.
My overall impression of the place was meh. It is a 3-star hotel, maybe, trying to act, and charge, like a 5-star. That may explain why the conference did not have the Cambria as one of its recommended hotels in the block. I would...
