Beware of cockroaches. My fiancé and I lived in this building for two years and had re-signed our lease for a third year, originally having a great experience in this complex. However, around the end of May of 2023, we started noticing small bugs in small quantities that we were unaware were actually small roaches (similar to the size of ants). We’re originally from Ohio and didn’t realize they were more common in the south. By June, we’d put in a maintenance request as we started to see more. It quickly progressed over time and turned into a full blown infestation. Keep in mind that we had lived there two years prior with absolutely no issues. However, we were on the first floor and lived next to tenants we knew and were uncleanly and that had just moved in, near the garage which was filled with piled up garbage, and next to the office which had recently had renovations. This all happened under the new management. After two visits from pest control, the issue was still not solved and we were hopeless. We chose to break our lease because the conditions were unlivable; the roaches were everywhere, including our bedroom. During this time, I had a severe allergic reaction from the roaches as well, which we later realized is common from living with these bugs. Because the bugs are known to be “hitch hikers” and attach themselves to and hide in everything, we had no choice but to get rid of pretty much everything in our apartment - furniture (bed, desks, couch, entertainment center, dresser). They also infested our kitchen, including our dishwasher and cabinets, so we did not feel comfortable keeping any of those items either. Essentially, we lost out on thousands of dollars worth of household items. As we were breaking our lease, we were told more than once that we would be notified once they found the source of the issue for our own “peace of mind.” After waiting weeks to hear anything from management, I finally followed up and was told they couldn’t find the source and that the issue was resolved. Within a month, they had a new tenant occupying the apartment. Interesting that two visits from pest control while we were occupying the space didn’t resolve the issues but once we moved out and maintenance revisited it, all of a sudden the problem was resolved. I’d like to add that we received no compensation for the damage and what we lost, aside from our security deposit which was barely over $100. Since, my fiancé and I have had to move back home to Ohio with our parents to save up enough money to buy everything brand new for our next living situation. The whole experience put us in a terrible situation and the only thing we “gained” from it was being able to break our lease. We lost so much in the process and have become traumatized by the experience. Overall, we don’t feel the situation was taken as seriously as it should’ve been as we don’t know anyone who would live in that kind of environment for over a month. Beware of this when choosing...
Read moreI recently moved out of Park Central. When I first moved in last summer, everything seemed great and I had no complaints. Over the course of my year lease, there were 8 individuals in 3-4 management positions, so turnover was extremely high. There were many times when I felt that management was not attentive to residents' needs, and it is my hope that this feedback and feedback from others can encourage change. There were several instances in which multiple cars were broken into (at least a dozen that I know of, mine being one), and we did not know if anything was being done to stop it, as we were just sent an email to "practice reasonable personal security measures." I got subpoenaed to court and had to miss work because, somehow, someone was able to access the garage that was advertised as private and secure, but the email notice we received from the building took absolutely no responsibility (like the fact that, at the time, there were no security cameras in the garage or building floors to aid Metro PD in their search). It was confirmed that the individual did not actually live in the building, nor were they a guest of anyone, therefore there was a major security issue in that they were able to find themselves in the garage to begin with. No one from the building ever followed up with me after the notice of my vehicle being broken into. Most concerning was an alleged theft incident in which a weapon was stolen from a car, and unless anything changed, there is no security getting from the private garage to the residents' hallways; you could just walk right in the door from the garage to the hallway. This was very concerning, and a large reason why I did not...
Read moreI recently moved to Nashville for work and did not have time to visit and look for housing. I found Park Central online and rented site unseen. The staff is great. They were extremely helpful throughout the process. They are helpful, responsive and friendly without being overly familiar or intrusive. The prices are a bit high, but for the location it cannot be beat. On the engineering side, there are constant issues with elevators, access doors, and garage gates but the staff is always communicative and quick to remedy the problems. The rooftop lounge/pool area is great. My only "complaint" is that there is only 1 grill for the entire bldg! During warm weather it is nearly impossible to get any grill time. First world problem, I know...but given the space, occupancy, and price maybe investing in another grill or 3 wouldn't be such a bad idea. My only real gripe are the other residents. Most are very friendly and keep to themselves, but there are quite a few that simply ignore common courtesy. Smoking in the garage right next to the entry doors, driving through the garage like they are the only ones there (seriously...defensive driving skills are a must. Can't recall how many times I almost had head on collisions), the halls reeking of cheap pot smoke, and disregard for quiet times.
Overall, it was a positive experience and I would not hesitate to recommend this property with only minor...
