Not bad. The prices are slightly less than the fancier Thai places around town, but it's tasty and the people are nice. Good flavors. Good heat and they ask everybody their heat level preference. Incredible variety of foods on the menu. I got the Tom Kay (Kai) soup with chicken and was a bit put out by the packaging to go. I inquired about serving sizes and for the small she indicated 3/4 of a standard coffee style styrofoam cup. Then she pointed to the fairly large classic Asian food to-go container for soup. I decided $7.95 seemed quite fair. Only after I got to my car and looked at it did I realize that she had been somewhat misleading. See the attached picture. It still ended up being a fair amount of soup and it tasted really good. I didn't care for the fresh tomatoes in it as they were pretty much cooked down to mush. But the remainder the soup was very good. I saw plenty of noodle and curry dishes along with some pho that looked very good. All the food is served on paper plates and bowls with plastic forks and knives and styrofoam cups (except for the pho, which was served in a ceramic bowl). It is very much a disposable style business. If you want real plates and silverware, there are a number of places around town where you can get that for about the same price. However if plastic is not a deal-breaker for you this is a pretty good place to get your basic Thai and other Asian style foods. I plan to go back and try a few more things.

This is my oldest sons favorite off campus meal. So while dropping him off at Vanderbilt University for the semester we decided to go. We got there at about 5:30 pm and there was already a line out the door. That tells me that it is great food. Looking through the menu you get a wide selection of Thai meals with a large choices of proteins to add. I went with the Basil Fried Rice with chicken and a spring roll. One thing that my son warned me is that the spice level starts high based on what we eat. I decided to go with level two which left my mouth tingling but was not unbearable. I also tried the mango smoothie. My son told me the place gets packed so we decided to go back to the hotel to eat. It was delicious with the Basil not being too over powered with the spices. We will definitely need to make this a regular stop during drop offs and pick ups. I know my son goes every couple of weeks.

This is the worst food I've had from Thai Satay ever. I've been coming here for years for quick, delicious Thai. I went through a breakup this weekend and wanted some comfort food. When I placed the order they said it would be a few minutes. My food came out suspiciously quick. I don't live far from the restaurant, and there's no way this could have happened due to time in transit. I got the drunken noodles with a Thai tea. The noodles were stuck together, like they'd been sitting around all day, and the meat (pork) was tough and chewy. There was literally ZERO taste - I couldn't believe how bland it was. There was some spiciness but that couldn't do anything to make up for the lack of taste. I had heard Thai Satay had gone downhill after an exit, but couldn't speak to it until now. I'm so disappointed and won't be returning.
