We ordered pizza delivered to our hotel from this restaurant last weekend. Sis-in-law was hungry after only having an appetizer for dinner many hours prior and we all agreed pizza would be a good dinner for her and a snack for everyone else. Roma was open late and convenient so that's what we wound up with!
Obviously can't comment on location, decor, parking, etc., or even really service. But our food was delivered within the given time window and our order was right, so that's about all you can really ask for.
We ordered the "pepperoni suicide" pizza (which, sidebar -- not a fan of the name to be sure), a 2-liter drink, and a slice of peanut butter explosion cake for my bro-in-law who was craving a dessert. I gotta give them credit for delivering an already chilled 2 liter; I was really afraid we were gonna have to ice it down with yucky ice, but we didn't.
The pizza and the cake were both fine! The pizza was better. I'd put it at about Dominos quality, which is all I was really hoping for. The crust was a little bready but not too too chewy. I thought the sauce ratio was good. These pies have the pepperoni cooked under the cheese, which is not my preference -- I like them to get crispy on top. This way they stayed sort of floppy and oily. But the flavor was alright! We appreciated the hunk of banana peppers in the box and packets of Parmesan but we were missing some red pepper flakes.
The peanut butter explosion cake was very dense and rich. I got to have a few bites because it quickly became too much for BIL. It was just okay. Kind of dry and turned gluey in your mouth with each bite.
Overall, it's not really a WOW experience but if you're looking for convenient late night delivery, it should...
Read moreI highly recommend avoiding all Roma's locations.
We used to be a long time customer at the Green Hills location. One day when we went to pick up our pizza, we handed them our card to pay and the clerk took out his cell phone and began to take a picture. We immediately grabbed our card and asked him what he was doing, and he said "Oh, our register is down".
Sorry, but you can not just take a picture of a card without even mentioning it, let alone at all.
Fast forward to yesterday (we apparently didn't learn our lesson). We called the Green Hills location to order up a pizza and this location answered the phone. We thought maybe we got the number wrong, so we asked them to transfer us to the Green Hills location and they said "Ok". Once our pizza arrived, it tasted totally different then what we were used to and the box was different. We went to check the receipt and realized we were not given one.
So, we called Roma's back up and they said they transferred us to a completely different restaurant and that the Green Hills location is permanently closed.
Why did they not tell us they transferred us to a restaurant? Why no receipt? Why is the location where they tried to take a photo of our card now closed?
Sorry, but this is the sketchiest pizza chain in Nashville. Do not...
Read moreI am a vandy student, and I usually never eat pizza unless its authentic, no franchises like pizza hut or dominos. I thought I would try an authentic original pizza joint like this. Well, I ignored some of the bad reviews on here and I so regret it. I ordered 2 pizzas and some fries for me and a couple girls at our dorm, our pizza was cold, and I kid you not, there was a fly underneath one of the pizzas in the box( which probably died in the pizza box). We figured this out after eating some of the pizza, then disgustingly almost puked at the thought of where that fly could have been before landing in our pizza box and dying. I cant believe these people are so blind and careless they never actually look at the pizza box theyre about to put your pizza in! I didnt even call back and complain, because when I placed my order the person on the other end wasnt very pleasant. I did however report it to the health department! Did I mention the fries were soggy? maybe from the steam and being contained in such a tight container. I honestly hope this never happens to anyone else, but this joint has definently lost me...
