Alo Yoga — Local services in New York

I came to shop here yesterday with my boyfriend. We were followed by the store manager the whole time we were there. We were there for about 30/40 min looking around and trying on different items. The staff besides the manager were extremely helpful and friendly ( helped grab different sizes that we needed and brought it to the fitting room ). The manager though followed us being so obvious that he thought we were going to steal. We purchased $590 worth of clothes and even after that we came back in to make another $32 purchase to grab socks. So over $600 spent and the manager still followed us the second time knowing we kind and paid cash for the $590 purchase. I felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to walk out without buying anything but the other staff was so friendly that I stayed. I asked other staff if he was racist and they just made a face and apologized for his actions and told me this is not the first time someone came to them saying he was following them around. I was completely uncomfortable and offended. Though I like the clothes and have bought numerous products in the past, this will be my last purchase. His racism was beaming through his skin he could not even hide it. Poor workers that have to deal with him. This was the first time I was ever followed around the store. One star because zero isn’t an option. I’m an All Access member and shop every single drop, yet this location continues to disappoint. The staff is consistently rude, and the customer service is honestly non-existent which is shocking for a premium brand like Alo.

Today I picked up an online order, and Jessica was at the counter she’s actually one of the reasons I stopped shopping at this store in the first place. Always dismissive and unpleasant. When I got home and opened the bag, the sports bra was wrapped in tissue covered in deodorant stains.

For a brand built on “luxury” and “elevated experience,” this is unacceptable. I live across the street but would rather order online or shop elsewhere than deal with this store again. Alo, do better loyal customers deserve...

Beware of rude staff/bullies at this store who will expect you to purchase items if you try things on in store and give you looks/gossip in front of you when you want to return items. I was incredibly discriminated against when I was trying to decide whether or not to return the items I brought in with me or exchange them for a different size/item. I’m 100% sure that they suspected the items I brought into the store with me were not indeed mine. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience and will not wish it on anyone.
