I have been a client of Anthony's for a, relatively long time!
I, Love, both: Anthony; &, his: medically trained; &, certified eye examination examiner(s); who are medical professionals, that come to visit on his East Village site; on a regular schedule.
This, is: Simply put: a, finely run store, by Tony.
For just, one thing: Tony, himself, knows so Very much, optically related info!
Another positive example is: there, is often a, good buy here.
Tony is very willing to fit glasses; &, he, himself, Is: very good at doing so!!.
Tony offers: Truly, Great customer service; way above: usually common good levels; which, are already, scarcely found, AnyWhere.
Pretty good typical roster collection, of: frame style selections; etc.; &, he, can do: some, special; &, custom orders; &, repairs; replacements; re-dos; research; reorders; readjustments; refunds; reschedules; and, has his own nice line of frames.
Anthony, often is: a, truly, Good; Decent; Honest; Caring; Kind; &, More, than: Fair Man.
Tony is honest for sure; But: Genuinely, Goes, the full measure, to: ensure: satisfaction; happiness; &, the, very best possible customer/client experience(s)!
As already mentioned, he treats you, w/: many, high degrees likemindedness; meaning: it is treating you, how he; &, his family, them-selves, would appreciate being treated, if, they; were paying for services; or: goods, from: somewhere else; themselves.
Tony, usually, does: go, the extra distances, to: always at least, give, the, reaction, in the most decent way at times, of being reasonable; and, polite; and, those values, are pretty much reflected, in: his, pricings; &, policies.
I don't like everything about his shops; &, I, do, have: a, few complaints; but,...it is, best, for now; &, going forth, indefinitely, to merely state: that, nearly all things God created, do indeed, have room for improvements; &, that: nothing is perfect; although, as I just mentioned: there, are, as of this time, none, I wish to mention here; &, right, in this spot.
This is my, Still Current: first choice as an, Optical Needs: place. I still feel that I know of no other optical places that are any better than this one.
Additionally, I, would add, that, his, own, original location; which is, in: the, N.Y.C. borough, of: Manhattan; is: originally sited, in: the, neighborhood, of: the, East Greenwich Village section; &, his well-trafficked; &, highly popular area's: location, is: on, 8th Street; where the, store; is, just off: the, corner of 2nd Ave.
The, original store, he, established, is, so far, the, only one, of: his, now: two places, of, which I am familiar with; (&, the, other, newest, edition, which is now open; &, operating, w/: Tony's long hours, of: dedicated; &, devoted; &, ambition driven, hard work, to: succeeding at: also, establishing itself, in: N.Y.C.'s Manhattan; is, I believe, situated, in: the, "Kips Bay" neighborhood area.

Read moreI would have loved to have given this shop 5 stars. I had a great experience picking out my glasses with Sarah, unfortunately, when I went back to purchase the pair I settled on, I dealt with another salesperson at the store as Sarah was on her lunch break. He quoted me prices that were $50 more than what Sarah quoted me (pulled them out of the air, maybe?), then tried to make it look like he gave me a deal, by dropping the price by $50.
When I arrived to pick up my glasses - which I love the style of, and would return to the store, because I like their inventory - the same sales rep, Brandon, "adjusted" my new glasses by bending the plastic frames (I heard them crack inside), which, it only dawned on me later, is a tactic used by shady sales reps to have glasses wear down and break quicker. Had I not been in such a rush, I wouldn't have allowed myself to be taken advantage of like this, but sometimes one lets their guard down.
What would have been a great experience, turned out to be very disappointing. It didn't seem like the other sales reps were as bad as Brandon (I overheard one of them say to him, in fact, "Don't do that" . . . as he was bending my new glasses).
This is a warning to put your guard, way up, when shopping here; and preferably, avoid dealing with Brandon.

Read moreI've been coming to Anthony Aiden since 2015. He and his staff have always taken fantastic care of me - and their selection is of course second-to-none - but it wasn't until today that I realized just how exceptional their customer service really is.
I came in to get my regular eye exam at AAO about a month ago. I decided to try something different this year by buying vintage frames and filling lenses elsewhere. I went to pick up the completed pair, and they were great! I just couldn't see out of them :( it turned out that the prescription I had given the vendor didn't match the pair of glasses I was wearing. That didn't make sense as in this year's eye exam, my prescription hadn't changed.
I called AAO, brought the glasses in, and after some digging, the mystery was solved: my prescription had been adjusted 3 years earlier and this was the first time I had filled new lenses with it, hence it "not changing".
Here's the kicker: AAO agreed to redo the lenses given what happened 3 YEARS AGO - which can't be definitively called a mistake, because maybe my eyesight was better then and worse now, maybe not - and then the focal point was off in the initial redo so they redid them again. And didn't charge me.
Yes, it's pricey but damn, service like this just doesn't exist anymore. And the quality is always outstanding.
