Barry’s Chelsea location disappointed me today. Ben was working there with John as a supervisor. I bought the summer 6 pack a while ago during the promotion. Actually I bought three packages. I had one class left out of the 18 and it was expiring on Sept 13, 2023. I was going to use the class for today but it disappeared on my account this morning. I was a little surprised and went to this Chelsea location to get it honored. Ben didn’t know what to do and asked John. Joh said no because I had to use the credit before Sept 13 and I should have received an email reminding me the expiring credit a day ago. I didn’t get the email… and it was clearly said on my app that it expires ON Sept 13.

Then I asked him about my 100th class situation. The academy program said I would receive a guest pass at my 100th class. I never received it. I asked Ben why. After briefly checked on my account, John said I received the credit and used it on myself on June 5 and refused to give me the credit. I went back to check on my account and found out I hit my 100th class on June 29. It was impossible for me to use the guest pass I deserved a month before I hit that milestone. Both Ben and John told me that there was nothing they can do and let me go.

I left and walked 15 mins to the Park Ave South Barry’s location. The staff here are very friendly and quickly honored my summer package credit. The staff also apologized for the system miscommunication. I feel I’m at home here at Park Ave South location. I didn’t raise the issue of 100th class reward at the Park Ave South location. I hope I could be given the one guest credit, considering how many classes I have...

Took my very first class at Barry’s today, and let me tell you - it was intense in the BEST way possible! Even though I showed up about 10 minutes late (oops!), the front desk team was amazing - they went above and beyond by leaving a personalized note on my treadmill welcoming me to my first class. Such a small touch, but it instantly made me feel right at home.

John, the instructor, was great - his energy was off the charts and kept everyone motivated from start to finish. I can already see myself signing up for more classes with him!

Now, the workout? No joke! If you’re looking for a serious sweat session, this is IT. You kick things off on the treadmill (your choice), switch to the floor with weights, then hop back on the treadmill before finishing strong on the floor again. Sounds simple, right? But trust me, it’s a killer combo! And don’t worry if you can’t keep up the whole time - none of us were! It’s hard, but that challenge is what makes it FUN.

The studio itself is top-notch - super clean with everything you need for a quick rinse and refresh before you head out. Just a tip from me: don’t forget your water bottle! You’ll need it.

By the end, I was drenched in sweat and had to take a breather, but it felt SO GOOD to push myself that hard. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back for more!

If you’re after a workout that pushes your limits, gets your heart pumping, and leaves you feeling stronger, Barry’s is the place. Trust me - book that class, and you won’t regret it. I’m already counting down to...

I just want to start off saying that I love Barry's and have been to hundreds of classes and I have been to many locations around the world. The service that I received at this location today was completely contrary to what I expect. I booked my friend and myself into adjacent treadmill spots but shortly before class began I noticed that my friend had been moved to a floor spot instead. I approached the front desk and asked politely if there was a mistake because I had booked us together. The girl at the front desk immediately gave me a ton of attitude and said that "if your friend is not checked in more than 5 minutes before class then her spot will be given away." There was no attempts to make any sort of concession to find us any other spots together, instead we were just dismissed rudely. The fact that my friend had arrived 15 minutes early and checked in was ignored. While it is understandable that mistakes can happen in a busy location like this and it would have been fine if they had checked her into the wrong spot or had moved her for a particular reason but the attitude that I got from the front desk staff really left a bad taste in my mouth. The class with Alycia was...

This is the only location in NYC that has RIDE x SPIN classes. This location is relatively spacious and well-kept. There's a red room for RUN x LIFT on the main fl and a red room for RIDE x LIFT downstairs. Tons of lockers - a good amt downstairs and a ton upstairs + inside the Men/Women lockers. The Women locker room is spacious. I love the OUAl products and have gotten some tree samples (OUAl, Kiehl's, etc.) a couple of times at the studio through their partnerships. My go-to instructor is John T. on Saturdays! He has great energy throughout the class + does a great job at instructing both bikes + floor simultaneously. Unlike RIDE x LIFT classes, 25 min is spent at bikes/ floor, then you switch once. The lightest weights for their RIDE x LIFT classes is 8lbs. Staff here is nice and helpful, especially in setting up the new studio bikes. First pair of shoes are free, then it's $3 rental afterwards (cheaper than SoulCycle). They can be used for both bike + floor.

This review is specifically about this location. The workout itself is amazing. Barry’s Bootcamp as a workout is A+. Chelsea’s Barry’s has been through the wringer. The Chelsea’s Barry’s location is incredibly disappointing. It’s dirty, things are broken and constantly in disrepair. I’ve been to New York Sports Clubs with cleaner bathrooms. What makes me complain is that the cost continues to increase but not level of service. It’s gone from 32 dollars now to almost 50 dollars a class. 50 dollars at Chelsea gets you moldy bathrooms, no plastic bags for dirty clothes, broken locker buttons and cold water in the shower. Every week it is getting harder and harder to justify 42 dollars a class when the location is just utterly nasty.
