Like previous humans I went to sell a good amount of clothes and the experience was pretty bad.
Originally wait time was going to be 30 min but it was 1.5 hrs.
The person that was reviewing the clothes was talking to their colleague the whole time and not really paying attention to the pieces that were being pulled out of the bag.
I brought some vintage/new pieces with their tag and only two made the cut. I observed that each person reviewing the clothes had a different standard. If was very frustrating to watch. There was one person ever was very focus and did buy a good amount of clothes but the person reviewing mine was distributed with their colleague.
About the store: If you are a curvy person or a Size M don’t bother going here. This store is primarily for smaller size humans.
The store categorizes by color and not by size except the pants section (which is super disorganized at 1:00 pm). It is very cramped and over priced. They had a piece from Zara that wasn’t that less expensive then in the actual store.
Most of the shoes at the store are worn enough that they have scratched/peels and again the price is a bit ridiculous.
Staff isn’t very helpful unfortunately and quite unpleasant if I might add from the person that greets you, to the people on the floor to the cashier. They seem like a lovely team together because they primarily talk to each other instead of the customer.
Positives: They have a selection of doctor martens shoes at a reasonable price. Only thing that I saw worth buying. I’ve heard their best location is the one in BK. Would def skip the...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. I came in with a huge bag of clothes to sell. I work in retail, so alot of my pay checks went towards purchasing from my store. To make a long story short, I walked in with alot of NEW clothes never worn, some with price tags still attached stuff I could no longer fit in. They did not take anything, which is fine by me. instead I let them put it in what they would call their donation bin, I guess. I traveled far and had some errands to run so I could not lug it back home with me.
Go through the racks in the store everything seemed over priced for the condition that this stuff was in, and they had the audacity to tell me their inventory was packed and they are being selective. The entire store looked trashed compared to the pieces I bought in.
My items I left behind better make it towards Goodwill, and people who need it and NOT on that selling floor or in the hands of any of those cashiers. I should have read the reviews before hand, cause I would have dropped the stuff off at Goodwill, The Salavtion Army or Dress for Sucess.
Something about that place left a bad taste in my mouth.... it didn't make sense. I really should have taken the clothes and handed to customers on the selling floor for FREE. Then I would have felt much better about leaving the stuff behind
IF YOU HAVE CLOTHING TO GIVE AWAY MAKE SURE THEY MAKE IT INTO THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO NEED IT AND NOT...
Read moreThe selection is great, and the W 13th store is well organized, but some of the employees are very vocal about their annoyance with customers just...existing. A couple of examples:
I arrived a little after 7pm, and got in line for the dressing room around 30 minutes later. One of the employees looked at those of us waiting for a dressing room, crossed their arms, and loudly said, "I don't know what possesses people to come in here late like this. I mean, really, why?" The store was open, and the dressing rooms were open. I could understand if we were being rude or messy, but we were just standing in line, not saying anything.
Another employee walked up to a coworker, asking for feedback on an outfit, then looked at us and said, "Ugh, I wish people would just leave so I can use a dressing room. I can't even check my outfit in a mirror." So customers who are trying on clothes during regular business hours are inconveniencing the employees who want to try on clothes?
I've had retail jobs and I'm a nurse so I get how frustrating it can be to deal with people. But none of the shoppers at Beacon's were tossing clothes everywhere or bossing anyone around. The employees seem very friendly with each other, which is cool, but maybe wait until after closing to vent about the customers.
I probably won't shop at this location on...
