So Iâm a Burlington fan and was excited to finally visit the store at the mall. Let me start out with the pros: they have a wide selection of stuff for the whole family, they have bathrooms (I didnât use them but itâs nice to know incase I ever have to go) and the fitting room barley had a line.
The cons: I donât know if theyâre understaffed but there was a two hour wait for the line that stretched towards the back of the fitting room area, which was ridiculous. Today I was only buying a blanket and decided to wait due to the fact it was a character blanket Iâve been searching for since earlier this summer as a gift. The bright side was that the other customers were understanding. There werenât any fights and we just stuck it out, which was cool.
But even the security guards were saying how they donât have enough staff to balance out the influx of people from nearby neighborhoods trying to shop. The store was basically closed from inside the mall at this point and the line was still stretched towards the back when I glanced to view the line. Mind you, I came into this store around a little past 6:45pm. It was now around 9:15 and I finally made it to the cashiers.
Iâm giving 2 stars because Burlington has to do better. Itâs not the staffs fault but they need more support and it isnât fair to them. Iâve worked retail before so I know how it feels to stay past the store closing time due to having 1-3 customers shopping in the store but this was just wild. I could only imagine how tough it was to close the store while still having a long line with only 3-4 cashiers. This is a problem I see in many of their stores. Donât just promote that you are hiring, actually hire more people â especially if youâre opening up...

She was on line almost 2hours and she was operated on her knee and sometimes has difficulty standing. I understand that there is ADA compliance for people with wheelchairs and canes, but having a 2 hour line on a weekday is absurd. She asked amanager at the counter, she did not get persons name, but she was working on her paperwork and of Asian descent and my mother asked if a concession could be made for her to check out sooner and this employee told her" You should have thought of that before you came" is the most evil thing to say to an older adult that is struggling over a situation that was mismanaged by your employee team is cruel. She only had 4 items and was rejected. She finally left the store at 10:04pm. I demand you train your team in basic empathy of how to handle these situations ethically..I will also take this up with corporate andI will be returning this week to see if i find this employee's name to formally report her. Shameful...
