Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience. I went to the Wedding Annex to buy my wedding band knowing the exact ring I wanted. It was a ring designed by Bittersweets - Catbird is the exclusive seller of their jewelry and I wanted to see it in person before I bought it.
My in-person experience at Annex was fine at the time. The salesperson was juggling me and few other people - it was Saturday, so I totally understood. When my time finally came, I told her the exact ring I wanted, the finish, engraving (two letters), and she helped sized me. She was bubbly and helpful. Once the purchase was made, she told me that I should be receiving a confirmation email shortly.
A day went by without a response, so I called customer service. The salesperson got my email address wrong, so we fixed it and I got the email. After reading through the email, my purchase was set to be picked up in person, as opposed to having it shipped to me, which is what I requested when I was in store and I definitely remembered that I gave my address. Then, I decided that I should probably double check that my engraving was still correct - after another call, my gut was right and I confirmed that it was not. The note was not there for the designer.
A few weeks go by and I get an email asking me what finish I wanted. I was confused, so I called again. I went to check if all of the things I fixed in previous calls were still in their system, and it was not. A few days later, I called again to check the status of my ring, and I was told it was sent out - I received zero notification about this. Of course, the ring was not engraved. So, I spent a whole weekend trying to track down the ring through UPS and then trying to send it back. Eventually, a customer service rep said they could just recall the package - this was incredibly frustrating to hear.
A few more weeks pass by, and I've finally received the ring! It's exactly what I wanted. Great job by Bittersweets. I'm not entirely sure if it was the salesperson's fault, but she could have made absolutely sure that my details were correct - it felt like once she made the sale, it was out of her hands, but perhaps that's Catbird's process. Catbird has way too many lines of communication, which caused all of these errors. Each individual customer service rep was very helpful, but whenever I talked to someone new, I had to repeat everything that I talked about in the last call/email. Whatever system they're using, it's awful. I thought my purchase was very simple, but I guess it was too much for Catbird. If there's a piece you want from a designer that is sold through Catbird, I would contact the designer directly with any questions as opposed to speaking or buying from Catbird. If it's made by Catbird, perhaps you'll have some...
Read moreI went to the wedding annex and everyone was nice, but if I’m specifically going to the wedding annex, I kind of expect the annex to have a sample of all the rings they sell. For example I wanted to try an oval solitaire with yellow gold , but they only had white gold or rose gold. I also wanted to try the swan lake ring in yellow gold but the lady said they only have it in white gold. This is like one of their most popular rings too. This was happening with a lot of the rings. On top of that the sizes of the try on rings were so big! Like size 10. When I asked if they had smaller sample rings she said no. Like how can you not have at least a size 6 around? All the rings were so big I couldn’t even really tell how they would realistically look on my finger. Me and my sisters made the trip from NJ to try on rings and they didn’t even have a yellow gold oval swan solitaire, and all the rings were like very big. Just a warning to people if you go, they might not even have the ones you want to try on, or a...
Read moreSome of their stuff is very cute but it’s also cheaply made and way overpriced. For a couple Christmas seasons they were my go to until I realized how many of their pieces break almost immediately. The last time I bought from them I paid 500 for earrings that broke. We returned the one that broke, they sent us another that broke again soon after. We didn’t even bother returning it because it’s not trouble than it’s worth. Beware of cheaply made products that they sell for way too high of a price. Save yourself the trouble and hit up a mom...
