Coral Essex Spa — Local services in New York

I was so happy to find a late night massage place open bc my back was really killing me. But I am so disappointed with this place and the service I will never be back. The massage was decent, despite my masseuse stepping out 2x for a couple mins each time. I didn’t mind paying first bc I know how people can be, no problem. But after the massage, I barely had my underwear on and the woman came back in and said “honey” it was time for the tip. I asked her to give me two minutes to finish getting dressed and of course I would tip her. I gave her $20 and asked for $10 back bc of the shortened massage and she pointed to a sign that said minimum $20 tip on a 1 hour massage that was not shown to me when I walked in. “Baby” it’s $20 minimum tip. Anyway this was not worth the $100 it cost me for a 1 hour massage even though it was close to 9pm when I walked in. Anyway; I wouldn’t recommend this place when there are so many good and cheaper massage places in the area that you can tip them more at for way...

Called today for an appointment. Very nice over the phone. Showed up at 4pm - they were very polite but once we started the massage they were frequently texting with one hand and massaging with other. I could hear her keyboard sound typing away. There were many moments when the masseuse left the phone next to my head and it would vibrate as she received texts. Eventually she started playing voice messages out loud, I voiced my annoyance and she laughed and finally put it away.

The massage was $60 - I was still planning to tip the masseuse $10 anyway, she very quickly pointed to a sign that says minimum tip is $20. Got extremely defensive when I pointed out how much she was texting and how much her phone vibrated next to my head. She argued it was only once (not true). I gave her the "mandatory tip" because I didn't want to argue over $10.

Might be one masseuse but soured the whole...

It's really nice the place Depending on who you get the massage is usually great One big problem most of the workers don't understand English it says you can get hot stone hydrotherapy, Vichy shower. you pay 70 for one hour first time it's great. Second time she tells me no show her the website and she had no idea what she's looking at Help if she spoke English the first time, the lady said she'll get some of that speaks English. I spoke to her and everything went great but this time she had no idea what I'm saying, and it was a different lady I will try...
