I’ve been going to Cynergy Physical Therapy for about 2 months now. I’ve had multiple surgeries on my knee and most recently had ACL surgery in September 2016.
I started PT at another facility but discontinued. After a few months I began having issues with my knee. I knew I had to return to PT but wanted a fresh new start and decided to go with Cynergy. I found Cynergy interesting because they promise personal one on one sessions. In other words, the therapist is solely focused on me and my issue and isn’t distracted by working with multiple clients at the same time.
I currently work with Aubin and she is great. She has a lot of experience and knows what she’s doing. Aubin pays attention to detail and listens to your input. On my initial visit I was evaluated on my current condition and she put together a workout that was specific to my needs. I had issues with extending my knee and Aubin was able to correct it within 2 weeks and I’ve never felt better. Aubin is firm in what she demands from you but is also gentle and fair in her approach.
The Cynergy staff is very friendly and always helpful. They recently moved to a new location with a lot of open space and large windows that allow for a lot of natural sunlight and a great view of 57th street. The new facility also has a number of individual rooms for one on one privacy with your therapist. There is also a changing room, which I appreciate but it could use a lock. I believe there is a sign that says to knock before entering. They could also use some lockers to place your belongings, which they had at the old facility. Maybe they will have lockers in the future.
If you’re in the midtown area I would definitely recommend Cynergy for their professional, approachable and...
Read moreCynergy has been the best. I am presently going there for both ongoing knee issues and recovery from a fractured elbow. I see Sarah Jordan. I have been so hugely impressed with Sarah. First, her astuteness and knowledge of the workings of the human body. All that education shows! No question that Sarah was paying attention in class and attends on going classes post degree. Anyone can see a limp, Sarah sees the body mechanics that cause the limp and what needs to be done to correct the issue. Sarah is also positive and a great teacher. She focuses on what's working and what I need to do to reach realistic goals and explains it all in a very intelligible manner. I am now able to do things that I did not believe possible. Finally, she has worked with me to design exercises or figure out "work a rounds" that connect to functional and meaningful goals. For this New Yorker who injured her dominant right arm, that means using chopsticks and swiping a MetroCard. Cynergy is a great facility. It's clean and they have all the up to date equipment that one might need. Every staff member has been courteous and responsive. They are always a pleasure to deal with. Best of all, when they say they are going to do something, they do it. I cannot recommend Cynergy more highly. In fact, I have recommended Cynergy to several friends who are seeing other therapists at this facility or others. They have other locations throughout the city. My friends report having great experiences just like mine. My impression is that any of the locations would provide the same level of fabulous service that I experience at the Midtown...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying that I cannot say enough great things about Emily at Cynergy - Midtown West. She is a miracle worker. Working with Emily allowed me to returning to doing something that brings me joy: walking without pain.
I was referred to Cynergy by my podiatrist because I had issues with pain in my right foot from a heel spur exacerbated by pain in my Achilles tendon. I was also experiencing fatigue in my legs. I have a high tolerance for pain, so I waited years to get this checked out. When my podiatrist check my feet and exclaimed, "wow," I knew something was seriously wrong.
Working with Emily, on that first day, I learned that the muscles in my legs were having a direct effect on the health of my feet. That day, she released some of the tension in my legs and feet and showed me two exercises that I could do at home to continue my healing. Later that day, she emailed me print outs with instructions on proper form.
Over the next two months, she continued to work on the flexibility of my feet and showed me more exercises that would release the tension in my legs. By the end of my time with her, I had no pain in my Achilles tendon and heel spur.
Unfortunately, I couldn't continue to see Emily because I couldn't afford it; Cynergy was out of my network and my insurance was resetting at the beginning of the New Year. However, if I needed a tune-up, I wouldn't hesitate to pay the out-of-network co-pay to...
