If you’re looking to actually grow with Jesus…. Truly grow…, then this is the church for you.
There is biblical truth, and, support! They don’t leave their congregation stranded, and nor do they ever lead them astray. This is a church (just as all should be).. where, they will invest in you spiritually, care for your walk, care for your health, care for you..period. This is a church where you can gain valuable relationships that, God willing, you will keep for a very very long time. Also: the young adults group is absolutely fantastic! (Ages all over the map, you won’t feel left out, or too old even if you’re in your thirties and don’t think you fit the bracket, don’t worry, you totally do!, and there’s plenty of people here of all ages!). There’s also a college students group, specifically for those in school. All their groups are so helpful and fantastic; all their bible studies, life groups, support and prayer groups, both women’s and men’s groups, etc. Plus, I really love that this church continues to evolve and grow more and more! The worship team and song selection is diverse, and so is their overall congregation.
Anyways… I could go on and on about this church..and its congregants. This isn’t just a setting or a, once weekly thing… this, is a FAMILY. An absolute and undeniable family. We ARE family in the body of Christ, and this church absolutely embodies that truth. I love this church with all my absolute heart and have so much to say about them and thanks to give…. It’s immeasurable and beyond words.. and far beyond what I could accurately convey through a simple google review.
Please attend Calvary Baptist, and more so than that, please, invest in your spiritual growth, and invest in connection with the congregants. Don’t just attend Calvary, become family.
Thank you Jesus for Calvary Baptist and how you have more than blessed me with every teaching, opportunity, connection, and profound love received since my initial discovery of this church. Please continue to touch, use, and protect this church and all its congregants and leaders. And Lord, please continue to stretch the number of congregants and impact that this church desires to make for the glory and knowledge of your holy and precious name. Thank you Jesus, my Lord; in your name, with all my heart, I...
Read moreSadly, it's a very declined place... Only about 100 people on Sunday... No children... Not sure it will survive for too much longer as a congregation if not a miracle. Three stars and not two (two would be my lowest for any Christian church) just because the preaching was biblical (although rather weak and going around in circles)... I was a little bit misled by the 4.9 stars rating, but I would rather tell the truth for hose who visit New York and take Google rating into consideration when choosing a place to worship on Sunday morning......
Read moreI just went for the first time. For me, these are the earmarks of what I would consider a church that I want to attend.
The pastor preaches straight from the word and exposits it with historical context. Near the end of the sermon he presents the gospel and extends an invitation to non-believers (who are of course welcome to attend). After this, the bread and wine is administered to the congregation and more prayers are given.
The commitment to biblical preaching and genuine community is what will likely keep me going to...
