LADIES! I have found my HOLY GRAIL place for all things beautification! ​​This review ​is long but I wanted to post it ​specifically on this board​ because I think many of you ​can relate to this. When it comes to our skincare, you want to have that place....your place, where you feel comfortable and confident that they care about your skin as much as you do. My skin is in prone to dryness, eczema breakouts, and hyperpigmentation. ​Back when I was a broke resident, I remember promising myself that I would do all that "adult woman beauty stuff" when I actually could afford it, lol. Unfortunately, my actual experiences have been quite varied and I was kind of at a point of keeping it restricted to eyebrow threading and once/month waxing, until I discovered Spark Laser Center​. They are experts in all skin types and are very knowledgeable and attentive to issues for skin of color. I stumbled upon them totally by accident cuz they're conveniently located right next to my private practice. I ​popped my head in out of curiosity and met the ​​business owner, ​a ​cute little boss named Amna​. She was so sweet, warm, and welcoming​ and did a very good job convincing me to try my first ever laser hair removal!

​STAFF & Space The attitude and comportment of the staff is indicative of the leadership. Every single esthetician I've worked with is always professional, courteous, and extremely respectful of my needs and concerns. I've had different estheticians for various treatments and each one has been attentive, asked me questions, allows me to ask questions, and they call me back days after the treatment to follow up to see how I'm doing. This place is about SERVICE. The space is clean, cozy and comfortable. The best part: they got the whole place laid out with snacks, tea, coffee, and wine! I cannot tell you how much I love this place.​

My laser experience ​They have the only FDA-approved laser hair removal machine for skin of color. ​I didn't even know that was a thing! ​For many reasons, I was very ​hesitant to try laser hair removal but I ​was sick of ​​waxing​ and still having the problems you get from shaving. BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I did not expect to see such dramatic results so quickly. First off, t​he laser shoots out a cool blast at the same time as the​ heat​, so it dramatically reduces the sensation​ and discomfort​. ​Q​uite honestly, I don't know how women do laser hair removal without that. Since then,​ I've also lasered my arm pits...HEAVEN :) and​ ​I signed up for few more services there​ (facial, chemical peels, etc).​

​I'm glad I didn't give up on "adult woman beauty stuff." Sometimes you gotta take a chance, but you might end up finding your place. If any of you are still looking, or have given up, I highly recommend this location as...

I had posted a review on Yelp a few months ago, and after continuing to use Spark Laser's services, my feelings are still the same. I've been going to Spark Laser since 2015. I had seen a $50 Spa Week promotion and decided to give it a shot since my skin was in bad shape. As a client who has tried different spas throughout the city, I can honestly say that this place is one of New York's best laser centers. The market is oversaturated with discount laser spas that just don't yield results (trust me, I've gone the Groupon route and it's just not the same). Unlike some other centers out there, Spark Laser is clean, chic and has the latest laser hair removal machines since it's a medical spa. The cooling jets on their lasers lessen the pain so each zap is more bearable.

Originally I went to Spark for an IPL facial for my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark acne scars), but the clinic director Amna informed me that this wouldn't be a great choice for my olive skin tone. I really appreciated the honesty because it just showed me how the staff here cares about delivering results over money. Other places would have just let me get what I wanted and let me deal with the aftermath. Instead I was recommended a Skin Rejuvenation service which involves laser resurfacing and a PCA peel, but I wasn't pressured to get this alternative service. I hate it when people try to force add-ons, if you're a frequent spa goer, you know what I mean. On top of that, on my first visit, I was offered a free test patch for laser hair removal on one of my underarms. I was very impressed with what I was offered as a new client- but I was completely sold when the hair on my underarm stopped growing for a month and significantly lessened in density with just ONE treatment! After getting a package of 6 laser sessions, I've enjoyed hairless armpits. The only time I need a touch up is when my hormones fluctuate, but other than that everything is all good.

Since then, I've been going to Spark Laser for Facial Rejuvenation, laser hair removal, and Hydrafacials. Now they have the VI Peel and an assortment of fillers that I'm eager to try because every treatment I've gotten has been 100% worth the money. And the staff there are so sweet, caring and informative. I honestly love going here. My skin has never looked better. People who have known me for a long time can even see the difference and have been asking what's my secret. My answer is always Spark Laser. I'll definitely continue to go here to keep my face in check, and I look forward to removing hair from less desirable places on my body if you get what I mean.
