They saved my hair. And in a gorgeous salon. I moved to NY recently, and the pipes, water and stress absolutely ruined my hair almost overnight. I had never felt worse about my appearance when I walked into the salon - I truly had never seen my hair so lifeless. I didn't think the transformation they gave me was really possible. I was hesitant to try a new place in fear they would just do what they wanted to, and was about to just fly back to Austin to my regular stylist, but the staff here made me feel incredibly at ease that they could somehow make my stressed hair better. I had a triple whammy to work with -- thinning hair, new water and environment, and the blonde highlights were way too many colors. Before just diving in and doing what they know they can, both the colorist and the owner patiently explained everything I could do at home to make the moving adjustment (water filters, etc.) The colorist, Lisa, talked with me for 20 minutes before touching my hair. She then did a process I'd never tried, and took me three shades blonder than I was thinking would ever work - and it did. She took the time to do a much lengthier process (and no, it wasn't a dime more expensive than what I was paying for in Texas) which showed she cares about her work. I loved the result -- it is much better for my natural growth now coming in. The owner of the salon, Davide, gave me a fantastic hair cut as well. Nice people, quality work, gorgeous salon....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEasy to book an appointment, bedside manner of the front desk and stylist was good. I want to note that I have long, thick hair and I asked for long layers all over, with face framing, and no excessive thinning. The overall experience was good and I thought the haircut was good in the moment and it looked fine with a round brush curl.
However, after a few days I washed my hair and I noticed my hair had very choppy, not blended layers. I went to get a color done at another salon and my colorist at that salon even offered to correct it since it was so disconnected. At that point I had a full highlight done so I left it.
I think part of the issue was the layers were cut by razor while the hair was wet and then once the hair was blown out and dry, more layers were cut into with scissors and thinning shears.
Like I said overall the experience was good. Iām not one to leave reviews really but I just would be a little cautious. I wish I had asked for straight finish so I could see the choppiness...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here since it was near where I needed to be and had positive reviews. Unfortunately my stylist who I loved has left NY. While the service and people working here were great and it was a nice experience, I am miserable with the cut. I went in with very long hair, requested a clean up, no more than an inch and a half removed, along with some light face framing, but I came out with a much shorter cut then I expected that was also razored. Razored texture does not work with my coarser wavy hair. I said this to the stylists. Of course when they styled it it seemed ok and set but coming home and looking more closely, it looks chopped up, not well blended, and a bit like a mullet with a tail which I hate. I actually said to the stylist that previous ālayeringā had left me looking like I had a mullet and I was afraid of that but I got that anyway. Iām really upset about it but also thereās nothing I can do but wait for it to grow outš¤·š½āāļø Book...
