I have been coming to this Pharmacy for two years a new pharmacist Lydia Tan, I give my prescriptions to it is a controlled substance and I understand you have to use caution but I've been coming to this store for two years I give her my prescription and she gives me a face of disgust disrespectful nasty and just straight cold I was on the phone and she asks me what's my address I told her, I'm in the system I was on the phone I neglect to say West in my address I told her look in the system I have been coming here for years all the managers know me Jessica is great so is Ashley I believe the other guy is a Russian man with a great head of hair he's great another gentleman I believe he's Middle Eastern or sometime has a beautiful selection of watches they're all great that's the only reason this is only 2 Stars because if it was based on them if I can give 6 stars, I will. I get the impression this pharmacist Lydia Tan is a judgemental person because the second I gave her my prescription she gave me a face of disgust and refused to fill my prescription so I said this is not a new policy because Ashley the pharmacist told me to come in Sunday and she will fill my prescription did not say anything about a new policy that they can't fill my prescription because it's not in my geographic area and they know I go to NYU for physical therapy that is right across the street so it is extremely convenient this woman Lydia tan cannot fill my prescription she said and its not her problem if i have a seizure for not getting my prescription and if i dont like it call 1 800 Walgreens if I have a problem with her decision I explained to her if I don't get my medication I could have a seizure and possibly even die from not having my procedure meds and my Dr said i can have a seizure, she tells me I know but that's the new store policy Walgreens call 1 800 Walgreens, so called and I spoke to Tiffany representative in the corporate office she tells me that this policies been around for years and it is this pharmacist reference to fill my prescription and she cannot do anything about it. Tiffany told me to come back to the store when she leaves and get someone else to fill it. This manager Lydia Tan is a judgemental person and very nasty heartless person that didn't care if I don't have my medication I can have a seizure and died and I've been coming to this store for 2 years getting my medication filled there for 2 years. She told me to go to another Pharmacy and get it filled because she does not care it's up to her and she won't let me fill my prescription in this store and she's the manager and won't allow another pharmacist working under her to fill my prescription. If you have a seizure it's my fault, phone not trying to fill it somewhere else when the other manager Ashley told me to come back Sunday to fill my prescription. So the store manager told me to come back when she leaves and the other pharmacist will not have a problem filling my prescription if I was a patient prior so hopefully they are not lying to me and I can get it filled and I won't have a seizure from not having my...
Read moreIn a display of inefficacy that borders on the grotesque, for the second instance within the span of a mere six months, I found myself navigating the aisles of this Duane Reade with a heavy heart, only to stumble upon a reality so absurd it would have strained the credulity of Kafka himself. Despite having been furnished with more than ample forewarning—an exercise in futility, it appears—the apothecary had once again egregiously failed to ready a vital analgesic for my wife, who, poor soul, had recently been subjected to the surgeon's scalpel. Upon my arrival, a staggering ninety minutes post the issuance of the prescription, I was greeted with the news that while the pedestrian, non-narcotic prescriptions were prepared for collection, the crucial item was ensnared in bureaucratic limbo, with the directive being to abscond until post-luncheon. My attempts to convey the urgency of the matter—given the waning efficacy of the novocaine—were met with a refrain asinine in its repetition: only "Connie" possessed the requisite key, and she was presently entangled in some Byzantine meeting.
An hour later, my return was marked by a reiteration of the same Kafkaesque mantra: "Connie has the key," albeit with the tantalizing addendum that resolution was purportedly imminent. Meanwhile, dispatches from my suffering spouse detailed an escalation in her agony, a siren call urging haste, to which I was pitifully unable to respond. After an additional quarter-hour of purgatorial waiting, followed by another excruciating ten minutes queuing, the revelation was bestowed upon me with a nonchalance bordering on the offensive: the prescription remained unready, the mythical Connie and her key yet beyond reach. My entreaties, delivered to a cashier whose visage was as bereft of understanding as a marble bust, were met with nothing more than a perfunctory shrug. In a final, almost comedic twist, a figure emerged, promising a resolution in "just a few minutes," a claim that would stretch another ten minutes into eternity.
My tenure in retail, which spans the temporal equivalent of several lifetimes, has imbued me with a profound appreciation for the vicissitudes endemic to service. Yet, never before have I been witness to such a flagrant abdication of the basic principles of acknowledgment and communication. It is a scenario so patently absurd, one struggles to articulate its sheer,...
