Iāve had Mirajās Kitchen on my list of persian restaurants Iāve been dying to try for so long now, and finally had the opportunity to visit this absolute exquisite restaurant on a very nice chilly Tuesday night after for a little post long day dinner and what other way of relaxing and enjoying food than the persian cuisine
We were fortunate enough to walk in and find table despite us not making a reservation before hand.
I always tend to judge a place and how close to the home version of food is based on who is eating at the restaurant and when you walk through the door the entire place is filled with people eating of middle eastern/Persian decent, this tells me this place is gonna be pretty good.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a relaxed and inviting atmosphere; the aroma of classical homemade persian dishes filled throughout the restaurant making my stomach ache and crave some of the finest persian kabab! Overall very friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.
I dived in real quick into the authentic and traditional homemade style stews and kebabs of persia with my friends as this was their first persian experience. After glazing around the menu for a couple of minutes, we finally we able to decide on ordering
Ghormeh Sabzi Kabab jojeh Fesanjoon Basanti sonati
I will have to say though that their joojeh was as fine as it got in terms of persian kabab, very soft, sweet, and tender as kabab should always be when made finely, so it really settled well on our tongues. The chicken had the best texture, very sweet and tender that just hadmelted itās juices into your mouth, honestly one of the best finely crafted kebabs Iāve had in New york: the taste is still there I remember it to this day, but I can assure you when it came to mirajās it was one of my favorite dishes that day that we ordered.
As for the fesanjoon especially had the most tender and mouthing watering texture that absolutely made your heart melt. Both lastly the ghormeh sabzi were served with rice: Iāve always been picking when it comes to fesanjoon as not all restaurants are able to create the nice balance of sweet yet sour at once. I will say personally i thought the fesanjoon was on the more sour side so just put that into perspective. But overall a absolutely mouth watering and kicking to the taste buds in a way I cannot express enough.
Iāve heard this comment multiple times by before who have been to Mirajās, and I can say they really live up to it: their dishes really give you the homemade authentic flavor of the great persian empire. Mirajās Kitchen has definitely raised my expectations towards the persian cuisine, I definitely look forward to coming back and having their dishes again again.
Lastly Iād like to highlight our very friendly and welcoming waiter, I completely forgot his name but he truly he was the kindest: very positive, inviting, and enthusiastic about answering ant questions I had about the restaurant+ helped with recommendations, meals he enjoyed, and everything! Very talkative and welcoming to Mirajās, I really enjoyed having him as our waiter: would definitely ask for him when I come back again!
I even learned that apparently Mirajās is Egyptian owned! Which was quite an interesting fact to me
I really do have to say that till now Iām astonished and appaled on their very low rating of 4 stars on google maps, this restaurant has to be one of the finer persian diners Iāve been to in new york city, If there were ten stars, I wouldn't hesitate to give them!
Iāve been to Mirajās only twice so far, and I really canāt emphasize this enough when I say i really dish not get enough of their mouthwatering persian dishes. Overall, I cannot recommend Mirajās enough - the atmosphere, the food, and the service were all top-notch. If you're looking for a taste of perisa in midtown, look no further than Mirajās! Itās a must try. Iām coming back again and...

A Flavourful Surprise at Miraj Healthy Grill
I stopped by Miraj Healthy Grill on a whim after spotting their lunch specialāand Iām so glad I did. From the moment I dipped their warm, fluffy bread into the creamy hummus, I knew I was in for something special. The hummus was velvety smooth with just the right touch of garlic and lemon, and the bread had that perfect fresh-baked chew.
Then came the grilled chicken over white rice. Simple? Yes. But the flavor? Anything but. The chicken was tender, juicy, and beautifully seasonedāeach bite had a smoky char that made my taste buds light up. The rice was fragrant and fluffy, soaking up the juices like a sponge. It was one of those meals where the first bite makes you pause and say, āWow.ā
What really sealed the experience was the service. The staff were incredibly nice and welcomingāgenuine hospitality that made the quick stop feel like a warm visit. No rush, no fuss, just good food and good vibes.
The vibe inside is no-frills and relaxed, with traditional music playing softly in the background. Itās the kind of place where you can grab a quick bite and still feel like youāve treated yourself to something special. Prices were more than fair for the quality.
If youāre in Midtown and craving Mediterranean or Persian flavors, Miraj is a hidden gem worth discovering. Iāll definitely be back to explore more...

If youāre searching for the best Persian food in New York City, look no further than Miraj Grill. I came in for the Sultani Kabab, and I can say without hesitationāit was the best Iāve ever had in NYC. The koobideh was juicy and rich with flavor, and the barg was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Every bite had depth, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection.
My mother ordered the Baghali Polo, and she couldnāt stop talking about how aromatic and well-balanced it was. My father had the Ghormeh Sabzi -and he said it was the closest thing heās had to our grandmotherās cooking, which in our family is the highest possible praise.
What made the whole experience unforgettable was Mohammad, the manager. Heās not just kindāheās extraordinarily kind, genuinely caring, and very, very, very funny. He made us feel like we were family, bringing so much warmth and humor to the table that we were smiling the whole time. His energy elevated the entire evening and made a fantastic meal feel like a celebration.
Miraj Grill isnāt just a restaurantāitās a home away from home. Whether youāre Persian or just love great food, this place is a must. I canāt...
